Looking for a good pocket gun

There are a few instances, where I've found taking one of my fullsize pistols is just not pratical. Outdoor sports, or enviornments that don't support good concealment are some examples.

I'm looking for small gun that still fires 9mm. Ideally, somthing like a sig 232 would be perfect, but I'm not a big fan of the .380 caliber.

Any suggestions?

One of my friends let me shoot his LCP. The insanely small size and lightweight make it difficult to control since getting a good grip is difficult.

I hear you. I would have loved a scandium j-frame pocket gun in .45 ACP like my 1911s, but nobody made one, so I went with a caliber of similar power.

I have a Keltec .380 and NAA .22 LR revolver. Love them both. Really like my NAA, it's great to just drop in the pocket and go. Dont let anybody kid you about .22 lr as a self defense round. How many people do you know that have been shot in the eye or ear by a .22 and are still alive today. .22 has serious penetration and will do the trick.

I usually carry a glock 30 and I just picked up the bodyguard 380 and it is a nice gun. it is small but not too small and shoots great.

The little baby Kahrs (PM9) are hard to beat in a semi-auto 9mm that is light and disappears in your front pocket. I held a PM9 and said to myself, “that’s a 9mm?”. I thought it was a .380 at first. I have never shot one but I have shot a P9 and I thought the recoil was ridiculous for a 9mm! It was worse then my 10mm! A gun like the PM9 is only a backup to me. Not that it won't stop a threat I just don't like the way my grouping gets way to far apart with the P9 or any of those 15oz or lighter guns. Of course practice makes perfect but it’s not like picking up a glock 17 for the first time and doing 2-4 in groupings at 7-10 yards.

Another Kahr option that I have shot is the K9 and that shot great and has highly manageable recoil. They also have the all metal version of the PM9-the MK9. Weighs 22+ ounces but is the same size. I would assume it would be a lot more comfortable and accurate to shoot.

I guess for their intended purpose the PM9 would be fine. I just always carry at least a sub-compact size semi auto with at least a 3.5 inch barrel length. I don’t like the as I call them (micro compacts). Springfield xds, S&W M&Ps and sub-compact glocks are as small as I like to go in a service caliber pistol.

Seriously? I hate to break it to you but trying to shoot someone in the eye or ear will be difficult at best, and impossible under most circumstances. First off these tiny .22LR revolvers have almost no sights, secondly its a tiny little gun that does not lend itself to a proper grip, and finally the head (where the eyes and ears are located) moves a lot and makes for a difficult target (watch peoples heads when they are walking around). Using a .22lr makes shot placement insanely critical and is very unforgiving when shot placement is 100% on. On the other hand the gun you have with you is a lot better than the gun sitting in your safe at home.
