G.A. Heath wrote:This bill differs from the AZ law in a number of key points. First off it will only call for an immigration check on folks who were arrested, where the AZ law called for a check on people the officer reasonably suspected might be an illegal immigrant. Secondly this bill would require a check on everyone who is arrested, not just those suspected of being here illegally.
Very important distinction. Thank you for pointing it out.

I thought it was to target the Arabic people coming in through Mexico who left the Islamic prayer rugs on the Texas ranches?
I guess it would be easier to set up a lost and found and just arrest them when they came to clam their rugs though.

I just read the text of the law and it says that the immigration status of those ARRESTED will be checked. If you were stopped on a routine traffic stop, you will NOT be ARRESTED and therefore you will NOT be harassed as a minority as long as you are law-abiding and avoid arrest. Also, it did not say to check immigration status of SUSPECTED illegal immigrants but to check the immigration status of those ARRESTED. It suggests that EVERYONE must be checked. I don't know how the law will actually be promulgated, but the law itself is NOT racist nor facist. I support it wholeheartedly. If the legislator really did sleep on the floor of the house in order to file the bill first, then she has my COMMENDATIONS because that, my friends, is DEDICATION.

P.S. Please write your legislator in support of this bill. Thank you.

The US immigration laws are very soft and forgiving compared to the Mexican immigration laws.

Under Mexican law, illegal immigration is a felony. The General Law on Population States…

"A penalty of up to two years in prison and a fine of three hundred to five thousand pesos will be imposed on the foreigner who enters the country illegally."

Debbie Riddle is about to be on Greta's show on Fox News. So, you could DVR it on the rerun later if you miss it.

It sounds sarcastic, however, please leave those who speaks Arabic alone, most likely they speak English very well too.

:txflag: Gotta like a pitbull like Debbie Riddle. She's my rep in district 150, and I have had the opportunity to work with her on several issues. She's been very responsive. I am chairman for my neighborhood watch group (740 homes) and I invited Rep Riddle to come and speak at our next neighborhood watch meeting on Dec. 2nd. She quickly said yes, and her office manager has been in touch with me to solidify the plans. Impressive.

I also like the bills that she has filed. She has a ton of support in the Northern Harris County area. Go Debbie!! :thumbs2: :thumbs2:

By the way, she's a gun toting CHL'er, and I have invited her a couple of times to join our forum. :thumbs2:

Of course. Ole Rick is a seasoned politician. He won't back this bill if there's a negative backlash from the Hispanic community. I heard somewhere that Hispanics are the biggest minority in Texas.

In many Texas counties there are more Hispanics than Anglos or Germanics.

In those places, the Anglos and Germanics should be eligibile for all minority benefits.

Making stuff illegal makes black markets worth the risk.

Prohibition made the mafia. Drug war made the drug lords and caused the drug violence. People want cheap labor here and cheap labor wants to work here, somebody is gonna supply that demand. Make it illegal, it's still gonna happen, or maybe you think there's no maryhoochie or crack or meth in America because they're illegal. Oh wait right it's illegal so it costs more and you gotta deal with criminals to get it, same as immigrants.

You wanna fix the problem with schools and hospitals and welfare and food stamps, build a high-speed railway to Mexico and let anyone who wants to work come here to work. Sign in when you get here, sign out when you leave. No free anything, work all you want and save all you rmoney and go home 2x a year.

Fixing immigration is goverment fixing a problem goverment created. "We got to outlaw this!" "Oh no, this is outlawed, we got to do more!" "These outlaws keep makin more money, we gotta do more than that!"

Prohibition made the problem, more prohibition won't fix it. All the schools and hostpitals and welfare problems happen because the workers can't just come here to work and then go home, so they bring their whole families. Talk to some of them if you doubt it. You get a new roof put on or a new house built, you know you hope the crew is illegal so you can pay less, so cook burgers on the grill and feed 'em lunch and just ask. I have. I work with lots of illegals. They don't wanna bring their whole families here they wanna make money here then go home where their family is. Bringin the family here eats up most of the money they make but they love family so they bring em anyway. They make better money if the family stays home where they wanna be.

I watched an episode about Border Wars where the drug runners use fast boat at night to smuggle large quantity of dope.

You know what is the punishment for smuggling hard core drugs in Saudi Arabia, or Eygpt? DEATH

Make the punishment of for convicting a hard core drug smuggling, the death penalty and you will see the problem goes down, I would not say is gone. it is goes down big time.
As for illegal immigration, if you cross the border in many countries you are either shot dead, blown into pieces or prosecuted as a spy. I vote for land mines and short term legal work permit. At least you know who enters and wants to work have a work and have the background checked.

Take those 'Traffic cameras' at every road intersection in the U.S.A.and move them all to the border. Should have a camera about every 2 feet, with a bunch to spare. Put up some lights. 24/7 covered.
