Pull directly into the next lane and then accelerate?sjfcontrol wrote:Interesting... If you're stopped in the center lane, how do you get out of it without accelerating? An interesting trick, to be sure!aggie06 wrote:I distinctly remember the driver's ed instructor telling us you could pull to the center turn lane and stop, but not accelerate in the center lane. Got stopped for this way back in the early '90s. I don't make a left anymore if I can't merge right away. I've seen some folks driving there for almost half a mile! Either slow down or speed up to merge already!dicion wrote:Don't know about this one specifically, but my favorite is 545.060(b), which basically says you can't pull into a Center lane on a road from a side street/driveway to merge into traffic to the right.
I see people doing it alllll day every day ;)

I made the mistake of turning right on red IN GERMANY, once...all of the cars behind me were honking at me, after the fact...shame on me!Mando'a wrote:For the longest time after I got back to the States, I wouldn't make a right on red (not permitted in Germany).
Someone would normally have to honk at me.
