Voted this morning. I always early vote. One of the early voting places is in the basement of my building, so I just walk down there on a break from work to vote. Very convient, oh and I was #1 this morning.

I had been thinking about early voting and it sure sounds like it would ease some worries about making it to work on time. I have decided that I'm going to wait until election day though. I recently started a new career (school teacher) and I am hopeful that when I show up on Nov 2nd with my "I Voted" sticker on that I can spark some interest in a few children. I would love to get it done this week but I hope, hope, hope that when I tell all my classes that I got up extra early and stood in line to participate and how lucky I feel that I could vote, that maybe just one or two of them will take it to heart.

Trying to change the system from the inside I guess :patriot:

I early voted on Wednesday (10/20) after work, at the Randall's store in a suburb just west of Austin. They'd had nearly 900 on Monday, and over 1200 on Tuesday - many times the turnout they'd had in the primaries.

Lots of down-ballot races for judges, justice of the peace, board of education, etc. Generally it's difficult to find out much about the candidates, and all too often they sound the same.

Generally when a candidate is "unopposed" I leave that ballot blank, or if his ONLY competition is the Libertarian, I vote "L."

Oh, as I was voting, there was a woman on a cell phone in line . . . from what I could hear of her conversation, she was trying to find out if her friend's husband was joining hers to go hog hunting!

The wife and I left the house at different times yesterday. I went to the Church to see what was going on, then across the street to vote. To my surprise, as I was leaving, the wife was walking in. No line, It probably took about 10 minutes.

I tried last Thursday afternoon, after work. I found out the polls closed at 5:00pm last week. Then 7-7 yesterday, 1-6pm today and 7am-7pm next week. I believe Friday, October 29 is the last day for early voting. Can anyone confirm this?

Today I got all the guys in the ofice to early vote, 2 of them weren't previously registered. I know when the 2nd gets here and the precencts are crowed a couple of them may just see that and head on home. They came back to the shop all excited that they had performed thier duties. A good day!

Went yesterday, main reason is to avoid the rush on election day. There was plenty of folks and a small line with more coming in behind me...a good problem to have IMHO.
