No fingerpints for regular renewals. LEOs have to fill out 2 cards to make up for them. "rlol"

Not a problem at all in the Pearland L1. Well, besides some techinical difficulties with her computer, but she was able to get it up and running. Everything went smooth, no smart aleck comments. Lady was professional, courteous, and downright pleasant.

I went to get fingerprinted today at Austin DPS Crime Records unit located at 108 Denson, near Airport Blvd., across from Highland Mall in Austin, TX.
Hours of operation are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Was in @ 8:05 am and out @8:20 am (15 minutes!!.)
Total pleasant experience, in fact so good, I mentioned it to the supervisor on the floor.

No questions about anything, just general, How are you today?
Very professional, very courteous!

I recommend highly!!!

This is what I did as well. I didn't even make an appointment, just walked in got my fingerprints, stuck them in the envelope and drove them right down the street and dropped them off at DPS.

Im not one to cause a big stink about many things but id sure fire off an email to the company.
Ive had mine done twice (completley different place) and they never even asked what it was for.

That kind of behavior is unacceptable on its own, much less in what is supposed to be a professional environment.

ETA: my experience with the L-1 service in Hurst has been nothing but a pleasant one. Dont think that all places are this bad.

If you're in Austin, go to the DPS building on Denson, but it's RIGHT BY Highland mall - next to the railroad tracks. NOT on the DPS campus at N. Lamar. NO appointment is needed, they're polite and do a digitial fingerprint. :thumbs2:

Texas PI Mom wrote:I had such a bad experience with L-1 here in Waco (and the main L-1 branch on the phone) when I did fingerprints for my PI license that when it came time to get fingerprinted for my private process license, I drove down to the DPS in Austin and did it there. MUCH better there. L-1 is getting a bad reputation.
i was going to say the same thing, and i MUST use the Waco office for work, they are so rude. and if you are 10 min early they read their book waiting for your appt but if you are 3 min late the cancel on you, pick their book back up. it ridicules, and they are the only game in the industry.

you should file complaint
