Strange Encounter with PD

#1

Post by puma guy »

I went out last night to run a errand and while returning home was stopped in the left turn lane of an intersection waiting for the signal. The timing of the lights is not good and I sat through one cycle of through traffic green lights. While I waited a patrol unit pulled into the left turn lane opposite me. After a few seconds I saw his spot light come on and he then directed it directly into my eyes. My headlights were on low beam and I thought about flashing the driver, but thought better of it since my opinion was this is a real jerk of a police officer and he'd probably make a big deal of my flashing my brights. I finally put my hand in front of my eyes to block the light (it is a very long cycle) but he continued to spot light me until the lights cycled again, the left turns lit up and as we both proceeded into our turns he killed the light. If I'd have been able to get his unit number or license I would have reported it. I have no idea why a police officer would blind some one with a spot for no apparent reason. I was seeing spots all the way home. :headscratch

He was probably looking for some one. If he had arrested you then you might know.

Just a thought:
I parked next to an "ex"-police car last week, that still had the spotlights on it, but overheads and etc removed.
I used to drive a retired unmarked police car (actually a Lumina, not the standard patrol cars) I picked up cheap at auction after it was totalled in a wreck, and I've wondered why some Depts leave the spotlights on the old patrol cars. I recall one guy in Pasadena used to keep getting himself arrested for impersonating. (I never was tempted to do that, I just got lucky getting a good cheap car from knowing the officer who wrecked it, and other than no hubcaps etc, it looked like any other Lumina)

Oddly enough I do have implants. I just had cataract surgery on both eyes and the lenses I received have the effect of making lights appears as though viewed through a fresnel lens. Every light has about 10-20 concentric rings around it, the brighter the light the more rings. That was an anomoly they said had been corrected in this genegration of the Restor implants. Not!

In response to the other replies, It is in Pasadena but it was a real police unit. Whether or not he was looking for someone is unknown (doubtful) IMHO. He would have to have telescopic vision to see anything other than possibly skin color. He never spotlighted my license plate just directly at me and with my hand in front of my face he wouldn't be able to see any details from that distance I assure you. I had my 160 lumen tac flashlight with me maybe I should have responded with it in morse code. :evil2:

If you get a disorderly conduct-language for morse code with a flashlight, would your ticket be in braille?

I know the cop you're talking about. He just got that spotlight for his birthday.
