Article Published by A&M on UT shooting and SCCC's Response

Well A&M's newspaper published a very anti-concealed carry on campus/anti-2nd amendment piece today about the UT shooting:

http://www.thebatt.com/news/editorial-s ... -1.1653751" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

We had a meeting with the chief editor tonight and had our own article published:

http://www.thebatt.com/opinion/guest-co ... -1.1657208" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Fighting ignorance one person at a time is fine, but it feels good to get the truth out to the masses!

I have been trying to read, and to respond to, the articles linked, but both keep locking up my browser with no "pop-up warning" or anything like that. It appears that something on the page accessed is trying to send something to my computer that my multiple layers of protection don't like.

Sorry about that--yeah it keeps locking up my computer as well for some odd reason. I may try scanning the articles--I'll post them if I can get ahold of a scanner.

Turning off Javascript, Java, and Plugins will likely solve your problem.

It's the flash container on the right that's doing it.. if you kill plugin-container.exe from task manager it works.

If you're running Firefox, the NoScript extension is just about mandatory. If you're not running Firefox, then what are you waiting for?

To the SCCC folks: Nice job!

Oh ok, I won't be scanning the articles then I guess--excellent mail calls though. Besides one crazy girl who wants all guns besides bolt actions banned, everyone was on our side and tearing into the editorial. I better not tell that girl that the first UT shooting was carried out with a bolt action rifle, because she'd want those banned too...

She wants waiting periods, registration of your firearms, all semi-autos banned--the works! She's a brady (brainwashed) kid alright!

The first article refers to his "AK47" as a "modern military weapon". It goes on to say he "could have killed dozens in a matter of seconds".

She sounds like she would be a great resident of California or New York.
