Finding Matches

#1

Post by TEX »

Besides this forum and the IDPA home page, where is the best place to find major or semi-major IDPA matches within say, 300 miles of Houston? My problem is that because of my work schedule I need to plan out almost 4-6 months in advance. The Costal Bend Challange shows to be in April 2001 on the IDPA home page (super fun match BTW), but that is about it. I could go as far as OK. AR, or FL panhandle with enough lead time. Any help would be appreciated. I am trying to plan out 2011 and catch as many quaility matches as possible.

You have found the best place - IDPA.com Your problem will be that the clubs and IDPA HQ doesn't get the next years matches posted until February or later.

There is usually a state match just outside of Shreveport in March usually gets announced here: http://www.miculeksidpa.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; -but it may not get announced until after the 1st of the year.

There has also been a sanctioned match held at an indoor range in Lubbock the last few years (usually in Feb). I've never been to it but know others who have -I believe this is the website for that range: http://www.patriotfirearms.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I feel for ya, as I have to use vacation time to make most sanctioned matches and I also need to put in for it at least 3 months out. And I really can't fly across country to shoot, I just got back from IDPA Nationals in Tulsa -probably won't make another Nationals unless it stays that close (I'm in East TX).

WHIDPA (whidpa.com) - 1st saturday every month and every wednesday.

Thunder (tts-idpa.net) - 2nd saturday and every wednesday

PSC IDPA (pscidpa.com) - 4th saturday

There are a few others that shoot during the week but these are the monthly weekend matches.

Great news ! Be sure to post a link to the application when it gets posted online.

I just noticed the application for the Lubbock indoor match in Feb is now up (see upper right of this page): http://www.patriotfirearms.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
