I'll second "Way of the Gun", realistic weapon handling and 308 bullets actually go through walls!
"Hard Boiled" John Woo Hong Kong shoot-em-up. This is the flick where all the two guns blazing, jumping through the air started, also destroy a real hospital building in the big shootout

I should probably withdraw my recommendation of "Shoot 'em Up". Or at least advise you to not spend more than a dollar on it.
Has anyone mentioned The Terminator series?

I was simply appalled at the complete disconnect between reality and the screen in the movie, "Hurt Locker". The movie was good if you could overlook everything that happened that had absolutely nothing to do with SOP.
If I had to define the most telling defect of the movie story-line in a simple phrase, it would be "lack of Security". I could go on all day.

I always get a kick when I hear someone "cock" a Glock in the movies.
Another one...Someone is holding someone else at gunpoint.
Then, to show how serious they are, they decide to actually
rack the slide to chamber a round...sometimes more than once.

My favorite is when people "cock" 1911s. So, either theres a round in there and you rode the hammer back down ...or you're cocking the hammer on an empty chamber.USA1 wrote:I always get a kick when I hear someone "cock" a Glock in the movies.

We watched "Hurt Locker" last night. I'm too old to speak of the on the ground reality of that mindless situation and I do thank you for your service.Purplehood wrote:I was simply appalled at the complete disconnect between reality and the screen in the movie, "Hurt Locker". While there were a couple of pretty good "blow-up" scenes, I think the movie reinforced my belief that an invading army has little, if any, chance of "winning the hearts and minds" of any people whose country has been invaded by foreigners.

Cant believe no one has said Wanted with Angelina J. Maybe because it was'nt that good, but some cool gun stuff. "shoot the wings off the fly" and " bend the bullet"

I especially like the gritty realism of movies like:
Unforgiven
No Country old Men
But, if zombie movies can count, I just saw Zombieland a couple of weeks ago. I'm not a Woody fan, but I really liked that movie. Best line:
Just after find a large cache of weapons in the back of a Hummer: "Thank God for Rednecks!"

Plus, if you haven't seen it, you gotta love Bill Murray's character (himself), although it's kinda tragic.terryg wrote:I especially like the gritty realism of movies like:

Last Man Standing with Bruce Willis sending lead throughout entire movie without ever reloading.

Shoot man I'm just a "Natural Born Killer", I actually love shoot-em-up movies with Woody
Love and a .45
Lock Stock and Two Smokin' Barrels
Pulp Fiction , anything with Bruce Willis
The Crow
and I actually liked Kick A##
and if you like Nick Cage Face Off was good and cheesey
I'm not sayin' the it's a great movie but I counted Dan Akrod fire close to 30 times out of two six shooters without reloading in Gross Point Blank.
