For those not in the know they approach you in parking lots or in traffic with a story about getting "too many speakers" from the warehouse and they'll make you a great deal. Problem is the speakers are junk. Just google "white van scams" and "divinci speakers".

Man, are you the guy they talk about in all those Dos Equis commercials?
His business card says.."I'll call you".

~ Police often question him, just because they find him interesting

~ He speaks fluent French, in Russian

~ He once had an akward moment, just to see how it feels

~ He lives vicariously through himself

~ Even his enemy’s list him as their emergency contact

~ He owns 4 sports cars, and rents 5

~ His personality is so magnetic, he is unable to carry credit cards

~ He never say’s anything taste like chicken… Not even chicken

~ Every time he goes for a swim. Dolphins appear

He is, The most interesting man in the world.

JayCee wrote:I saw a couple of guys working that 'hustle' the other day. While they are shady characters, I don't think it's a robbery scenario. They're just selling cheap knock-off cologne. I was approaced outside a gas station in Garland with the same rap "you like cologne" but then the guys pitched it inside to the clerk and other customers. Annoying? Yes. Illegal?? Not likely.
Actually, plenty of cities have specific ordinances dealing with solicitors of this type. Here, they're required to have a permit and nametags displayed at all times while soliciting, and the PD does enforce this pretty strictly because of the potential for fraud and occasionally, robbery.

Thanks for the feedback. Ya, I recall now that as a kid getting tonsils out, it did take a while for the ether to kick in. They told me to breathe deep, close my eyes and that I would see bunny rabbits. They lied. But I did go down hard. Then woke up in pain. And have been wary of the medical people ever since. ;-)
