I don't know about you, but I am never going to open carry a dog. It may be legal, but with the right combination of anti-dog cop and DA you will take the ride anyway. I don't have $50,000 to defend myself for doing something perfectly legal.

In my last instructor renewal class there was DPS lawyer who insisted that OCD (Open Carry Dog) was illegal despite finding no statute to support her. She stated that DPS would arrest for both OCD and CCD. I tried to explain that there was no law against (properly leashed) dogs, but she said I could tell it to the judge.

Even though I believe in Constitutional Carry based on the Preamble (PA)...Dogs "promote the general Welfare"..."ensure domestic Tranquility (except with cats)"...and "secure the Blessings of Liberty"...

I am not willing to be a test case. Until we have a test case, no one is really safe carrying a dog. Until we get a Supreme Court case upholding PA dog carry (People v. Rover?, Fido v. Bloomberg?) I am not willing to risk it. We have a long fight ahead against the likes of the National Coalition to Ban Dogs...The Feline Campaign...and other dog control and anti-PA groups.

I don't understand why you people have to open carry your dogs everywhere. Can't you just leave them at home? Or better yet, don't own them at all!

There have been OVER TWO THOUSAND deaths and maimings due to dogs in the past 2 decades alone!
Some of those killed or maimed were children! Just imagine, if you will, the population of Every Elementary School in West Houston, Killed by dogs!!!

Sure maybe a dozen or so dogs have been reported to have protected lives, but that's not that many!
That CLEARLY shows that dogs are HUNDREDS of times more likely to injure someone than they are to save someone!
Studies have shown that in homes with no dogs, the chances of death by dog is nearly Zero.
In homes that have a dog, that chance more then QUADRUPLES!!!

Comon folks, you have to agree, TONS of deaths, and very little positive results have come from Openly Carrying Dogs these past years. I think we should ban OCD Everywhere!
If it saves one child's life, it's worth it!!!

Stores don't need help reorganizing shelves. The standard rule is to change the location of items randomly, and for no reason other than to ensure you have to search the entire store each time to find what you are looking for, because it is no longer in the same location as your last visit. This ensures that you will see, and perhaps buy, items you weren't looking for but since they were "on sale" you put in your cart anyway, while on your quest to find what you were looking for. In the end you find the one item you were seeking (eventually), and check out with that item, and twenty other items you really didn't need, and probably don't really want, but now have bought anyway.

-You dog banner's are all alike. Haven't you read "More Dogs, Less Crime" by Dr. John Lab ?
-More kids die in swimming pools than from dog bites. Are you going to ban them?
-States with fewer dog laws and restrictions have much lower crime rates.
-I'm not talking about fully automatic attack wolves (although with the right permit you can own them), I'm talking schnauzers, pekingese, dachshunds, and toy poodles (all easier to conceal).
-I'll give up my dog when you pry the leash from my cold dead fingers.

The Feline Campaign to Prevent Dog Violence is NOT about banning dogs, they just want reasonable restrictions.

They believe that anyone who wishes should be able to own a dog in their own home, with certain restrictions on breed and size.
Large breed dogs are the first choice of street gangs and drug dealers, while small breed dogs are too easily concealed.
Even if small and large breed dogs are reasonably and effectively banned, there are still plenty of dogs to choose from, so why is everyone so worried?

When I was stopped by the manager and asked to leave, I recited Title 3 of the Americans with Disabilities Act to her, but she was unimpressed with my lecture on the laws of the United States.

If you were carrying it in your arms, I'm guessing it wasn't actually a guide dog.

When I first saw this thread title, I thought it was about Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and I avoided it because I have an irrational fear of OCD. It made me want to wash my hands repeatedly. But thanks to my therapist and a bottle of Xanax, I was able to finally enter and read. Lo, to my surprise, it appeared to be a thread about carrying your dog in public and into supermarkets, and whether or that was permitted. But then, blindsided, I discovered that it was a thread about obsessively and compulsively carrying your dog into supermarkets! I was drowning - a desolate and blighted thing. Who will rescue me from such pain and fear? I needed to wash my hands again.

Then, I remembered my rock, my anchor, my dog who knows her place in the world and has a proper attitude toward supermarkets.


Order is restored. I am free again.
