The news article discusses the suit filed in Lubbock Federal court over 18-20 year olds being prohibited from purchasing handguns. Among the comments is this gem:

Licensed gun dealer and Rustic Range owner Dub Dillard has some concerns about the suit. "I like the law the way it is. I don't think that 18-year-olds are mature enough to handle handguns."

There are plenty of other reasons in my opinion not to like him, but I won't be doing any business there at all. You have basically no choices in the Lubbock area to shoot a rifle, that isn't enough to make me give money to Dud Dillard.

Sounds like a business opportunity for someone.

On the other hand... Rustic Range strikes me as one of the better run and *safer* ranges that I have ever been to. And for $5 per hour, the price can't be beat. Maybe the owner's comments reflect a greater-than-average orientation toward safety -- that would make this middle aged shooter choose his range.
