Re: What line of work are you in?
Like Yankee Girl, I'm an engineer (in my case, electrical) by training, but went over to the dark side into management. After more than a year of having two jobs (they couldn't find anyone to do what I was doing before I went into management) I had enough and decided to "retire" as soon as I turned 55. Basically, I had planned for my future without them but they had failed to plan for the future without me. So now I'm a consultant working an average of 4 days per week.

I suppose that would depend on your level of skill.sawdust wrote:Stripper.
Should I select "Skilled Labor" or "Unskilled Labor"?

What? Only three clergy other than me so far? I know there's more than that around here!

Student at UH (Construction Management) and retail at a grocery store. Career fair is coming up in a month so the retail job will be getting the boot. For the record most construction jobs are skilled labor (drywall, roofing, electrical work, etc.).
The spirit of resistance to government is so valuable on certain occasions, that I wish it to be always kept alive. It will often be exercised when wrong, but better so than not to be exercised at all. I like a little rebellion now and then. It is like a storm in the atmosphere. -Thomas Jefferson

I used to be a professional musician, and now play for the fun of it. Technically, I'm an Audio Engineer, both in a studio/live environment, as well as an audio/video designer for churches, schools, and private organizations. (No I don't design speaker boxes for car stereo's
)
It's hard to truly describe exactly what I do without a lot of technical jargon, so I'll put it this way... People pay me to make things sound good, and/or design things that sound good.

For another few (very few) months, I will be a federal civil servant, working in the "space biz" (Space Shuttle operations and training).
Soon I will be retired, likely continuing to be a part-time flight instructor.
