Carry enough gun. Even at home.

Carry enough gun. Even at home.
If four criminals burst into your home RIGHT NOW to rob and murder you, what do you have on your person to resist? Does that comfortable .32 or .380 or .38 have what it takes? You don't have to reply but be honest with yourself. The life you save may be your own.

nothing on me. Always, All doors are locked. I hope by the time the intruder is attempting to break in, I would have my Pistol in my hand retrieved from a small safe. Should not take more than 30 sec to 1min no matter where I am in the house.

Re: Carry enough gun. Even at home.
If I'm going down, I'm taking one or two with me...hopefully all of them.
Very often while sitting around the house I ponder what I would do at that very moment if my door was suddenly kicked in.
That's why I always have my primary carry gun on me and a second within reach. I don't live in fear, I just try to stay prepared for the unexpected. So you might call it "living in confidence".

Hopefuly the BG(s) will be deterred by the barking dogs. I will be alerted by them for sure. .38, 9mm and .40 felon repellant redily available along with a 12ga loaded with 2/0 buck handy.

+1 on the dog alarm.
Glock in original tupperware in bathroom. Locks the freshness in and the moisture out, dont'cha know.
The "plan" is to be slinging pistol lead while moving toward shotgun.
As far as I know, I have no enemies that would be so focused on harming me or my family that they would ignore a hail of small arms fire to get to us.
If you know differently please pm me.

9mm in my waistband with 13+1 and a .380 in my pocket with 6+1 and a spare mag with another 6.
Not because I'm expecting a home invasion, just because when I go indoors I take off my boots, but not my pants.

I'm sorry I can't post links from my phone. But if you will enter "shower" in the search box on this forum you will see the coolest "shower gun" ever.(IMHO)

My front door is fortified and cannot be kicked in by anyone as a matter of a fact a police battering ram would only punch a hole through it but the door wont come down. So they are welcome to try and kick the front door down, I will make popcorn and watch.
Assuming they do get in the house through a window after the glass detectors for the alarm go off, they will be met with either a .45, a 12 gauge or a 20 gauge loaded with buckshot. However, I have installed the best alarm system known to man with every feature possible including a cell phone back up if they cut the phone lines, and I have a panic button in the closets.
Ulitmately my theory on home invasions as to make the house a virtually impossible for it to happen.

Well...between a double alarm system outside, wireless to house and office here...have at least 2+ minutes warning of any "visitor".
That aside, yes...I am packing...daily...open carry...my ranch, my rules.
Always either wearing a sidearm or have one within arms reach...to "fight my way back to my shotgun with buckshot"...lol.

If someone kicks in your door and comes busting in to your house, that 30 seconds to a minute is going to seem like an ETERNITY!Beiruty wrote:nothing on me. Always, All doors are locked. pb I agree with you. 30 seconds is a lifetime in that situation. I would shoot for 1 to 3 seconds to be armed if they kick in your door. No longer than 5 seconds.

Maybe I should investigate timed break-in video. I just hope that my doors will hold up for me to be armed.

That door jamb armor looks like a good product. Although, it would be really cool to have gunsafe doors all around the house.

5" 1911 in .45 ACP on my hip right now. I sometimes wear a 4.25" 1911. I always carry on my person in the home. When working in the garage on my Jeep, I carry a XD40SD in a beat up holster.
