I hope you are not saying any woman who finds herself vulnerable is partially responsible for a guy raping her. The guy is responsible for controlling his criminal behavior. Period. Some people are very very good at gaining the confidence of their intended victims.Beiruty wrote:What is blind date and how one ends with a female in private place, his place, her place or a hotel room? If the dad in the story had been more interested in her social life before, maybe he wouldn't feel the need to overcompensate now.Oldgringo wrote:Back in the day, the guy would come to the house and meet the parents. The girl's parents would ask stupid and embarrassing questions like, "where are you going" and "when do you expect to be back" and "where do you go to school or work", etc.?
The gir's parents would actually act like they cared for the daughter's safety and well-being and the guy would actually act like he had some manners. How dumb is that? SHEEZ!

What does that mean? Is she in law enforcement or private security?TexasComputerDude wrote:They go to the police station and she a makes a statement and they make here feel like it's illegal to have pepper spray. They said that if she had not been qualified through her job she could have gotten in trouble.

You'd be surprised how some parents-of-daughters act. I've had parents drop their girls off at my house for a study session or pool party (I have a teenage boy) never having met me or my son, not knowing if either of his parents were at home or what was planned. Pull up to the curb, open the door, call me when you're ready to get picked up. 16 year olds weren't that innocent when these people were kids, I can't imagine what's in their minds ... if anything.Oldgringo wrote:and I'd think the girl's parents would like to know where she's going and with whom; especially, if she's still living at home and off her parents.TexasComputerDude wrote:I have no problem meeting a girls parents, I made the mistake of offering one time.
There are a lot of dumb people out there now.
Now, if the girl is mature enough to have set out on her own, she is out on her own and sets her own standards for social intercourse.
BTW, I never had any daughters, I just happen to be an expert on women .
