Was it necessary to speed?night4creeper wrote:i've been pulled over 3 times in the last 6 months, ..........................................but was the stop even necessary for a 71 in a 65 going downhill?
Yeah, I realize that, but to my defense, it was down a fairly steep hill, not uncommon to gain 5 to 10 mph while on cruise, and on top of that, it was 4am, not many people out at that hour.txinvestigator wrote:Was it necessary to speed?night4creeper wrote:i've been pulled over 3 times in the last 6 months, ..........................................but was the stop even necessary for a 71 in a 65 going downhill?
I know you didn't ask, but you might want to evaluate your driving.
Heh... all those are part and parcel of why, when I bought a "new" truck recently, it was a 1989 S-10, which I am now fixing up.JKDubb wrote:txinvestigator wrote:I just saw that commercial yesterday. Is that for real?kw5kw wrote:Steve,
That sounds a lot like the new Lexus commercials--the one that parks its self.
Yeah, I remember washboards...
Yeah, there used to be only radio...
Yeah, you had to hold the rabbit ears to get the picture...
Yeah, you used to have to parallel park...
Yep it is I read al about it in last months car and driver, it is actually really cool.
I myself would not purchase this car, i am upset that when my tires begin to spinmy electronic throttle decides that it needs to disengage to slow the engine RPM's while at the same time my antilock brakes feel the need to stop the spinning of my tires.

What happenned to the good ol' days of foot to the floor, rubber on the ground and smoke in the air!
A few drivers lose control and in steps the government/automakers to give us all safer cars. You can even buy vehicles that will slow you down when the cruise control is engaged to keep you from rear ending the driver in front of you! What are you doing that you cannot move your foot off of the floor and engage the brake????
Rant over...

Actually I was playing with him about his "necessary" comment. Sometimes I forget that dry humor is not 'readable' in posts. I need to remember to use the smilies.longtooth wrote:No maam he is just being a cop. and a pretty darn good one.Venus Pax wrote:Now, TI, you're just being a toot!
