Of course they don't walk on water. But they can shoot under it with the right alternate OEM parts installedUSA1 wrote:But they might float..being plastic and all.Salty1 wrote:Amazing, I learned something today........ Glocks actually do not walk on water............

Have already decided I will own a Glock one day because they are the best in that category of guns IMO.

OK, now that I've gotten my 1911 joke out of the way...xpur3l0g1cx wrote:Hey all, I purchased a Glock 29 a few months back, put maybe 200 rounds through it. I had a total of 5 jams at all 3 range sessions. It will hang the round up on the top of the chamber leaving the slide open. If i hit it hard enough it ll close but Ive tried multiple ammo and all the same result. I then purchased a lone wolf 10 to 40 conversion and same problem. My question is on my slide. The front sight has a screw underneath the slide and It isn't recessed or countersunk. Just curious if anyone has there front sight screw recessed on their slide. The only thing I can think is my screw is hanging up on the barrel or my mags are bad. No limp wristing here either. Any thoughts? Thanks
I checked my wife's G19, and the front sight screw does protruded a bit on the underside of the slide; but it does not interfere with the pistol's function in the least.
If I had to guess, I would suggest that there is something wrong with either or both the magazine's spring or follower.

Is your G29 an SF? Interestingly enough I did a little searching and found that some people have had some other problems with feeding in the newer SF models. This also includes the .45acp variants. I have a SF and have had no problems with feeding but it could be certain model numbers. The SF is kind of a 3.5 gen Glock for the .45 and 10mm if you will. Before the SF only guys with large paws could hold the Glocks chambered in 45 or 10mm with good comfort. The SF is essentially the same as a 3rd gen Glock, the main difference being grip and magazine related. Call Glock!!

Re: Question for all Glock owners : My Glock jammed!
Well, I never thought I'd post it out loud bit since we are confessing (taking a deep breath) mine did it too!
I've got a G30 and on the first trip to the range I just took it out of the box and went to slinging lead without cleaning and oiling it first. After about a 100 rounds it hung up. IIRC, it went bang but didn't eject the spent cartridge on the last round. I was shooting the range's cheap stuff (nonfactory). I think it was a weak round (a squib?). Checked for obstructions and shot another 100 rounds and it happened again.
I also shot 100 rounds of carry ammo and had no issues.
The range employee said their house stuff was notoriously dirty but I don't think dirt was the real issue. And after a proper cleaning and oiling I had zero problems no matter what ammo was used, even when I shot it in the mop bucket - just kidding about the bucket.
So, I'm curious. Did you clean and/or oil your Glock prior to shooting it?

Ok, you got the malfunction....did you clear it properly? I have a bunch of Glocks....and every single one of them has had a malfunction.
If you shoot it enough.....it will eventually jam.

You mean, even if I buy a Glock, I'll still have to know how to run a malfunction drill????
I was shooting with a group, who all had Kimber Customs except for the instructor who had a glock. We had some problems with failures to eject and failures to load because of the combination of bitterly cold weather and the fact that we were shooting semi wad cutters. After admonishing us for not using Glocks, he unloaded his gun (someone else checked it) threw it in the dirt (and I mean chunked it) and then proceeded to fire a full magazine with something like five malfunctions.
In Glocks defense he was using and after market slide.
In all seriousness I agree that the magazines should bear further examination.

Re: Question for all Glock owners : My Glock jammed!
Hi New guy here, I just got my chl a couple of weeks ago and have been following this forum while waiting for it.
Couldnt help but comment on this topic (I Keed )
Ive got a Hi Point c9 with 400 rounds down the pipe since I got it last month, with nary a problem .
I say that because I ran into some serious attitudes when pistol shopping for something I could afford that was reliable.
On the serious side, I finally got to shoot a glock at the range last week, I think it was a glock 27?.. anyway, really smooth trigger pull and nice pistol. The guy that let me shoot it tells me he has a glock with 10K rounds thru it with never a problem.. that is impressive. So its unusual for you to be having that kind of problem, and I hope you get it worked out.
Im hoping someday to have something in the glock line.
Great forum, great Info to be found here, looking forward to contributing where I can.

Re: Question for all Glock owners : My Glock jammed!
Have the malfunctions occured with both mags that come with the gun or just one of the them? Failure to feed is frequently a magazine issue as you point out.

They will do a yeoman job of shredding it. Couple of hollow points and it's ready for the tacos. The Annoyed Man wrote: A Glock won't keep your lettuce fresh.

Re: Question for all Glock owners : My Glock jammed!
It was the mags not the pistol.... Thank god, I tried to clean them when i first bought the pistol and i think I screwed them up, it was to hard to take them apart. So glock is 100 percent now thanks... Oh btw.. my Xd jammed(slide kept locking back, Im left handed so not hitting the slide stop just jammed happened on 3 different xd's I owned), my 1911 jammed(most hollow points), went back to glock and decided to stay. I live in a humid area near the lake and it seems this pistol is the only one I own that didn't want to rust outside the safe. +1 for Glock
