Too funny,,Lurkers,, I worked out of the country for a while,,years ago,,there might be some customs incidents,,that were nothing but are on the radar,,I have a TWIC card ,,background checked for access to Ports and Airports if you need to go there,,Insurance adjusters license,,same thing two sets of fingerprints as you are going into alot of peoples homes and allowed in devastated areas after a storm,,Licensed Merchant Mariner document kept current for the last 27 years,,and I just renewed that with all the background info needed,,,I do have a mailbox near Laredo,,I just get a few hunting magazines at,,I never lived there full time,,but as I just got it I did not think to put that as an address,,in my home for over 10 years,,,who knows

I am glad they finally allowed the car carry,,,the travel part of the old way,,well it did not matter

I did go and burn about 100 rounds through the Sig yesterday,,the more I shoot it the more I like it,,accurate,smooth,,226 is hard to beat,,and I put the laser grips on,,hard to see in sunlight of course,,but laser alone should stop any nightime aggression !

Looks like a beautiful weekend,,I have to take the boss fishing then off to Laredo for a week or so,,be safe out there and

GOD BLESS AMERICA AND OUR TROOPS !!

:headscratch :banghead: :confused5 :waiting:

After doing some research and trying to understand my rights as to appeals,,etc,,I will just wait and see,,they tell me it is in progress,,I have to go to Florida for a few weeks,,then Canada for 10 days in Septembver, then back to laredo,,so more things on my mind than to try to figure out the actions of government. I give up,,in this digital age, a background check should not take more than 30 days,,

How frustrating...it's like it got back burnered by someone and they forgot about it.

I think that is what happened. Several phone calls and emails with no one who knew what was going on or no response at all, then I just got in Laredo and checked and it is manufacturing pending ' !! So the end is near !

DL or ID : Valid
Citizenship : No documentation required
Passport photo holder : Received
Photo : Received

Proof of Proficiency training : Received

around 112 days,,DPS received 4/29,,went staright to background check in progress,,and sat there,,sent email on @ 8/9 asking what was going on,,again no response, then on 12th it says complete,,and this morning shows mailed,,although it may already be there ,I am in Florida until the end of the week ,,so do not know about actually received,,anyway,,I am in no way complaining,,I was never stressed out,,they have alot to do there, and the system changed midway through my app.,,a few are bound to be slow,,especially if they have questions,,which I was never asked for,,as I said before I always have in the car,,I just hate leaving it there for a thief while I am in Home Depot or wherever,,heck I do not even have a holster yet !!

This is a great forum with tons of useful information,,

The more law abiding citizens with arms the better imo...
88 day wait for the state to approve my constitutional right to bear arms...
