Want to check Status but applied via mail

ok here is the timeline:

7/10/10 - Took the class at a local gun range and they handled the pictures, prints, and paperwork.
7/13/10 - Mailed all documents and the check to the DPS

I noticed a lot of chatter about being able to check your status. Is this only for those who applied online or am I being impatient? I have tried to go online and check my status but it gives me an error. If it means anything, the check has cleared my account so I know they received it.

if you did not fill out the online application, the old way was it took about 3 weeks to receive your pin #. there is no more pin #.
So the only way to check is via the website, with your DL #, SSN and DOB.

if it gives you an error, it is due to it is not in the system yet.

It will take between 2 and 3 weeks (normally) to show up.
As you mailed everything 11 days ago, I would say 3 business days for DPS receipt, so July 16. I would not expect it to show up online until August 1 or so.
