Congrats to those of you that have received status recently! DPS finally cashed my check today after almost two weeks, maybe I will have a status in another two weeks

I mailed my application Jun 1 and now I'm only waiting on my background check to be completed. We'll see how long that will take since I have lived in 3 differnet locations in the last 5 years, one of which being overseas.

If they cashed it i'm sure you'll get status soon. Most seem to be getting it during the 3rd week.

Took me forever to finally find where I could check the status of my application. Now that I've found it, nothing changes! Still waiting for fingerprints and background check.

First piece of mail I got from Austin I knew was WAY too soon to be my license, but I thought it might be some sort of PIN number for checking my status (guess I had read some 'old' info on the Net). Nope! Nothing regarding CHL...it was an invitation to subscribe to Texas Parks and Wildlife magazine!

Today, my wife brought in the mail and brought me an envelope...obviously CHL related. My heart skipped a beat when I could tell there was no plastic inside. It was just the letter that they had received my application and giving me my application number. Based on the timeline I see here, looks like my license should get here right about the time I am out of town for 8 day!

6/2/10 Class taken, application received
6/7/10 Application mailed
7/1/10 Letter from Austin saying application was received

You know, I still haven't even gotten my letter from DPS saying they received my application. Don't need it, just think it's funny that they got it about a month ago and no letter.

I wouldn't worry about this too much. I wasn't far behind you on mailing in app and I got the letter yesterday.

Well... since you're torn between the two, you could always get one now and then after the plastic comes in you can carry that one and go up and purchase the other with your CHL! always an excuse for another firearm!:
Well budroux2w I took your advice. I got the Glock 26 on sale yesterday and ordered the crossbreed this morning. With any luck the plastic will beat the holster by a few days

Congrats on the purchase! The crossbreed is worth the wait. It's probably the ugliest holster I've ever seen but it sure is comfortable. My wife and I had our fathers over for father's day, and I bbq'd and walked around the house packin and they didn't notice a thing.

My wifes plastic has been mailed (according to the website) and she still has not gotten the letter saying they received her application -- to be honest, her plastic is more important :)

Got an update

#118

Post by ronbo422 »

Sent my package in on June 4th, did fingerprints through FAST on June 7th. After a slight hiccup on my first update that said my passport photo holder was missing they got it straightened out, 'cause it WAS there in my envelope. This past Friday (July 2nd) had a new update of all things received, background check COMPLETE and License status is MANUFACTURING PENDING. Only a couple more weeks now, so all in all it looks to be about a 6-7 week app process time line. Now I really get to "sweat it out" waiting for the MANUFACTURING PENDING to roll over to MAILED. Tic-tock...tic-tock...tic-tock.
