My wifes was in the same situation, it changed yesterday.
The DPS still doesn't want to play right with my application...today is day 23 since they received it and still not status update.

We are a little slow at work, so I am checking it way more often than I should. I need to get myself on an "overachiever" project so I can keep from looking.

I sent mine on the first at it was received the 4th so i'm sort of in the same boat. I didn't do the online app first so I'm still getting the "System is unable to log you in... new user" message. Hopefully I'll get status soon.

If I were in Vegas I'd put $1 on you seeing a status within the next 3 or 4 days. Mine seems to have updated both times over night Friday night or sometime early Saturaday.

I think I'm pretty close. The only bad thing is I've decided to hold off on purchasing my carry piece until I have plastic, so its giving me plenty of time to flip/flop between the two pieces i'm looking at :headscratch:

Why wait? Get it, take it to the range, order a holster (there's another 30+ day wait right there) and have some shooting fun. :fire

*edit* What are you thinking about getting?

I was thinking the same thing, at least if you are going with a Crossbreed, they are about 4 weeks.
According to Comp-Tac's website, they are about 7 days for production, so up to 2 weeks for delivery.

I wanted to experience the feeling of purchasing a firearm without the usual background check phone call

I'm looking at either the PX4 Storm subcompact or the Glock 26. I think the Glock pistol is as small as I would go in a carry piece. The Storm has the Beretta "manual of arms" of which I am familiar. I'm currently leaning more toward the Glock purely for its size and because it is different from the Beretta 92 I use at the range. I like to mix things up.

I am planning on getting a Crossbreed. If its 4 weeks, I probably should order soon.

Yeah, it took me right at 3 1/2 weeks to get my crossbreed in. It was worth the wait too though.

Well... since you're torn between the two, you could always get one now and then after the plastic comes in you can carry that one and go up and purchase the other with your CHL! always an excuse for another firearm!:

Danged, a hiccup!!
The first online update was available today, after no update for ~2 weeks, and it states "Passport Photo Holder - Not received, notice sent to applicant".
What the heck?? Everything was included in my package that the instructors and I put together, including the photo holder and pics. Guess I'll have to wait 'til the letter comes to see what they want.
Everything else shows received, and background check is "under review".

Anyone else seen this statement before?

Thanks,
Ronbo

I haven't seen it but it's possible that there was something wrong with the photos. I'm sure someone that's seen it will chime in soon.

It may have been that the photos were too light. I noticed that when they passed them out in class, thinking they wouldn't pass for passport photos. There's something to say for digital photos instead of the Polaroid-style they used in the class. Also, my signature on the card wasn't exactly centered in the green box.

Should hopefully just be a couple of more weeks for you! We can hope! I'm hoping I get a status update tomorrow morning. I'll probably make sure I stay up until after midnight tonight, then go to bed disappointed :
