I just registered tonight, but have been lurking for a couple of weeks and have got such good info. I took my class on the 5th and I am mailing my paperwork in tomorrow. Now, I have to be patient.

Welcome! :tiphat: Your wait shouldn't be too long DPS claims an average of 30-45 days processing at this time I've heard of 21 days lately.

FixinTo:

Welcome to the board, where we have both
gun nuts and gun enthusiasts!!

Consider updating your personal profile by going
to the UCP (User Control Panel) and inputting your
city (or at least your area) into the "Location" field.

That way, when you post, forum members who are close
to you geographically may just invite you for a range
session. Or they can point you toward local gun stores
that would be within easy miles.

By the way, what gun(s) do you own, and what do you
plan to carry?

A little background. Live in Farmersville, TX, about 40 miles northeast of Dallas. Been pilot and aircraft builder since 1967. Wife & I have our own little private airport as retirement home. I figured I needed a protection plan for our place. I have a Kahr P9.
