co-worker robbed at gun point

#1

Post by Target1911 »

A co-worker of mine was robbed at gun point yesterday in broad daylight.

She had just left the bank and stopped at the car wash on her way to work.

The car wash is located on the NE corner of Baker Blvd. (hwy 10) and Handley -Ederville in Richland Hills TX.

This happened at 715pm.

She had noticed another vehicle in car wash but didnt think much of it. One of the 2 guys walked passed her bay and was looking at her. She got spooked and decided to get outta there.
Before she could drop the wand and get to her car she was approached by 1 of the guys and the other got in her car and started going thru it.

The first guy put a chrome/nickle revolver in her face and demanded her money and threatened to shoot her if she ran or yelled. They took her purse containing her cash (over $400), wallet with IDs etc..etc, everything in her glove box and her cell phone.

During this one guy pulled in and seeing what was happening, turned around and left. As the BGs left she asked one lady that drove up to call 911. She refused and left. Finally another guy pulled in and helped her.

Both Richland Hills and Haltom PD showed up. they had recieved a total of 4 911 calls. The LEO also stated that this was the third robbery within a few hours. The second lady that got robbed was pistol whipped and not expected to live.

The only description I have at this time is....
2 black males
Burgandy Ford Expedition with shiny wheels.

These are the same suspects that pistol whipped the other lady.

Fortunately my co-worker was not harmed

I will update as I get more info.

Glad to hear you friend is OK. Will add the other lady to our prayers.

This is a perfect example of thinking everything is safe and secure and then Whamo!! :banghead:

Do you think they followed her from the bank knowing she had money with her?
Or was the car already there upon her arrival at the carwash ?

Not too long ago there was a rash of robberies here
where people were being followed and targeted after leaving an area bank.

Would like to hear from seasoned guys. Assume you pull up and see this happening. You are an armed chl holder. What do you do? Please no legal cut/paste, real world actual steps you would take.

Immediately call 911 while hanging back and using the horn to draw attention.
I would want the BG's to know there is someone watching and summoning help.

The most important thing would be getting a license plate number and good description of the perps.

As has been said ..a CHL is not a Batman License.

Or, I might block their escape route and engage them in a firefight...But I'd probably choose the first option.

Wouldn't honking the horn and drawing attention maybe get the pistol turned in your direction? I like the reply as far as being a good witness, calling 911, and getting plate number and description. But, I wouldn't draw attention to myself and get the gun pointed in my direction. At that point I would feel my life is threatened and be forced to react.

Maybe.
But the way I picture it is I'll be in a vehicle far enough back to provide me a quick retreat.
If bullets did come my way, the engine block provides a little protection since I would most
likely be facing them straight on.

I know there are a lot of factors involved, but I just can't see totally abandoning someone who is in serious need of help.
I think the horn thing might make them stop and possibly save the victim from being harmed further.

Besides, I think most BG's are just cowards and I would hope they would just cut their losses and get out of Dodge if they know they've been noticed.

I see. That line of thinking makes sense to me.

I just wish someone that gave a crap about others would have been in the area to get their tag number. These guys are low lives and I hope they're caught soon.

The vehicle was already there and one thing i forgot to add.......when the BGs left the scene, they ran the red light which had the much hated "Red Light Camera"

as far what i would do.........

I cant say for sure exactly what i would do but i do know this. i could not sit back and do NOTHING and I couldnt just sit there on the phone with 911. If that person was to get shot, i would live the rest of my life knowing I COULD have done more. That is my nature and it would not be the first time I have gone after an ARMED BG.

FWIW i will be going to the Police Academy this year. As i said, it is my nature to do anything I can or feel I need to do to make darn sure the BG gets what is coming.

Prolly won't do any good as the car is probably stolen as well.

If I see someone that looks like a victim to me, with two guys threatening immiment bodily harm I would hope that I take action.

First I would have my weapon at the ready.

Second I would take a pic with my cellphone.

Third I would call 911.

Fourth I would play it by ear from that point on...I might need to change my drawers by that time.

Honk, Draw the muzzle away from the woman- while calling 911 on the bluetooth connection

Draw if necessary. Shoot if required.

Why??
#1 Terrorizing a woman. Yes i said terrorizing, i wish the US would use this term for armed encounters. then prosecute to the fullest.
#2 Total and Blatent disregard for TX law when it comes to the use of a gun. They have no fear...guaranteed it's not their first or last robbery. We need to thin out the herd.

Flame if you will, but everyone of my friends knows i do not tolerate violence towards women in ANY way. And i will become "involved" at any level necessary if it happens around me. (and yes i would act the same if it was a male victim).

So to throw another hypothetical on this. What if one of you is in your truck/car when you see this and just happen to have a truck/car rifle within grabbing distance?

Than I might actually hit what I am aiming at. I suck with the pistol.
