Being a new resident of Mckinney, Where to go shoot?

#1

Post by shortysboy09 »

Afternoon everyone! I have been working in Mckinney for a few years now driving from Rowlett. Well, as of Monday I became a new resident of the city of Mckinney. I used to go to the Garland Shooting Range when I lived in Rowlett and I am now looking for a new range to go to. I would say I am even between shooting my rifles and pistols so whatever gun range I go to would need a rifle range as well. Where would everyone recommend?

Somebody direct this man to the $3/day "honor System" outdoor range just north of McKinney.

Ralphs Range. Just east of Howe. Look for the 4x4 short bus.

Seriously. there's a thread about it last year, with photos.

It's unattended, dropbox to pay your $3.00
Pick up after yourself.
Don't shoot the natives.

Wish it were closer to home

Okay, Thanks for the info Rex. I found a couple of threads. Hopefully it's still open. Can anyone confirm this?

Let us know when you get back. I haven't been up since last fall and was thinkin' about takin' the AK up there this weekend.

It's closed -- presumably temporarily until they can upgrade the berms, etc.

I wished I read this thread earlier. I would have saved you the trip. I called twice and the last was last Sunday. Closed till improvement are completed. Very nice place to shoot. Shooters meet and greet and share the range as needed.
Owner said it is like couple months to complete the work.
I can't wait!

Count me as an interested party as well. Just joined the Facebook page.

I will be moving to McKinney over the next month or so. We just bought a house there. Now if we can just get the house in Arlington sold.
