Right now I have a Taurus 85 and a leather paddle holster that my brother gave me. I have done a test run without the revolver and it is unnoticable. I have plans to get a Taurus PT 111 Pro and a minituck in the near future. I did use a semi-automatic to qualify, so I can carry either.knb wrote:.... and then when it shows up it is almost anti-climatic...redlin67 wrote:I hope you're right. Unless it gets held up by the Postal Service, my guess is you will have it early next week.redlin67 wrote:Okay, I had to call to get some information. My license is being printed and I should have it in 7 to 21 days. One to three weeks, that's crazy.
Good Luck and congrats that you are approved!knb wrote:my guess is you will have it early next week
While it is no consolation, the law gives them 60 days to approve/deny the permit and yours was done in about +/- 40 days so they likely figure they got you done fast, particularly since the FBI slow down was during that period. When my wife and I took our class we were told that things were improving but it had been as bad as 120 days late last year do to problems in the department. We are all lucky they are getting them processed and produced in less than 60 days I guess.redlin67 wrote:Thanks for all the encouragement. I know that I am not the only one that is getting agravated at how slow DPS can be, but then I look back at some of the extreme waits people had to endure in the last couple of years and realize that we ain't really doing too bad.
Thats exactly what I think!LJM wrote:This board and all it's information is wonderful.
So they aren't exactly able to think outside of what you wrote on the application. I would List the last address prior to the one you are at now as well as the last job prior to your current job.gmantx wrote:Ok so I get the letter today that I have been waiting on since the web site said I had an incomplete application and that notice has been sent. So I put the company that I work for and for some reason I left off the street address and just put the town. So that is an easy fix however it also has the residence and work history highlighted and they wrote in that it need to go back all the wasy to 4/05. The thing is I have worked at the same job since o3 and have lived in the same house since 99.
Anyone else have any issues with these two parts?
I guess that I will call on monday before I put it back in the mail.
