A friend just told me why the French have all those beautiful tree lined streets in Paris. It seems that invading troops prefer to march in the shade.

I thought that was the final-exam in the course: "Politics-101".The Annoyed Man wrote:I've actually met Villaraigosa face to face and spoken with him briefly on a couple of occasions. He is a small man with a napoleonic complex. And an immoral weenie to boot. If you ask him a direct question that only requires a yes or no answer, he will reply with a 4 paragraph spiel that does not answer the question. Typical politician.

My question is, why was Texas NOT the one to be the impetus for this instead of AZ? We are usually the ones who start something of consequence that others would follow.

Yesterday I E-mailed Austin City Council and mayor about I won't attend the ROT Rally nor ACL and so they won;t get my motel tax money nor sales tax money.
I stated I'll do still business with Austin Kayak and Canoe, but at their San Marcos and Houston locations so no money goes to Austin Sales Tax.

Please boycott, or at least denounce California for perpetuating racism
The University of California (UC) is proposing tinkering with admissions requirements because a large proportion of their students are Asian.
The various school campuses around the Golden State show representation of Asians ranging between 40 and 54 percent of the total number of students while only representing 13 to 14 percent of California's population. So the question is whether standards for admissions ought to be lowered in favor of non-Asians to create more of a balance in the schools' student makeup.
Ward Connerly, founder of the American Civil Rights Institute (ACRI), explains that some administrators say there are just too many Asians and believe that "the only way to curtail that is to raise the standards on Asians and to apply a different standard to them than we apply to "'underrepresented minorities' who are black, Native American and Hispanic"
Reports that that one of the reasons the number of Asian students exceeds that of other races is because they typically work harder and ultimately attain higher levels of achievement. Connerly contends that their work ethic should not create an issue.
"I subscribe to the view that Ronald Reagan had when he was governor of California, when this same circumstance presented itself at the University of California, namely " 'too many Asians.' Ronald Reagan said, 'I don't care if every seat is held by an Asian if they've earned the right to be there.'"
The ACRI founder goes on to explain that he sees no problem with the Asian student population, but when he asked a UC administrator what was wrong with the school being dominated by Asians, he was told that they are "too dull : they study, study, study"
Connerly suggests that while administrators are considering "discrimination"; against Asians, they should be wondering whether those students will rise up against the proposal.
I stated I'll do still business with Austin Kayak and Canoe, but at their San Marcos and Houston locations so no money goes to Austin Sales Tax.

I sent an e-mail to the President of the Austin Chamber of Commerce stating that my family would not spend another penny in the city of Austin when we visit until the city council changed it's tune about Arizona. I also told him I will encourage every Texan I know to do the same.Yesterday I E-mailed Austin City Council and mayor about I won't attend the ROT Rally nor ACL and so they won;t get my motel tax money nor sales tax money.

Maybe we need something like the Boston Tea Party, where Americans dress up like banditos and dump the LA-bound power and water in the desert.
