I don't see a problem with it, but I must confess I'm still learning this stuff! I'll look into it. PHPBB has a pretty good tutorial series of videos, so I'll spend some time going over them after the holidays.
Back in August, I naively thought I could have this up and running in a couple of weeks. Boy, did I miss that one! I really wanted this site operational before the 2005 Texas Legislative Session started.
Regards,
Chas.

Re: Avatars
I can understand that. I ran a two node "BBS", bulletin board system in FidoNet for over 10 years. It was a handful, trying to keep up with everything. I offered over 400 message areas in four networks and over 10,000 files to download. At the peak I had over 700 active users. When one would disconnect, another was calling in..Charles L. Have ya given anymore thought or looked into adding avatars?
I like how they add a little color. They also give the other members a small window into how each individual thinks. However, there needs to be a limit on size. It can be really annoying to have to scroll down a page that has 10 posts for 5 minutes because people have to have an avatar the size of football field.

Honest answer is no. I'm getting ready for a trial starting on Monday, Jan. 10th, another one on Jan. 31st and that's eating up almost all of my time. I'll try to look into it later this month, or the first of February. Sorry for the delay.dws1117 wrote:Have ya given anymore thought or looked into adding avatars?

Yep, I'm one of many pro-gun attorneys who all to often get painted with the same brush as the other guys. I don't get to spend as much time on the board as I would like and I really appreciate the fact that no moderating has really been necessary. Not a single post has been edited or deleted. PLEASE, keep it up! A couple have been moved, but only because I had some really good suggestions for new forums.dws1117 wrote:Are you a Lawyer? How do you find the time to participate much less moderate this board.

Well, there was one....but maybe there was something in the body of text of the previous post I didn't understand that somehow made mine offensive. No harm done anyway.

That deletion was a mistake by a rookie moderator who was wrong and has learned his lesson. Unfortunately, once deleted, the posts can't be put back. I'm sorry about the whole deal.flintknapper wrote:Charles L. Cotton wrote:Yep, I'm one of many pro-gun attorneys who all to often get painted with the same brush as the other guys. Also, the comment you quoted above was over a year and a half old and was correct when it was written.

I am scared of empty guns and keep mine loaded at all times. The family knows the guns are loaded and treats them with respect. Loaded guns cause few accidents; empty guns kill people every year. -Elmer Keith. 1961
