San Antonio Ranges that will let pick up your Brass
My Brother in Law and I have started reloading, and are ready to go out and test our first sample batch. My question is does any one know which ranges in San Antonio will let someone pick up their own brass?
Thanks
Brad
Thanks

I wouldn't go to a range that didn't let me pick up my own brass. I paid for it. I own it. It is mine. Doesn't matter if I reload or not (I do). Anybody who thinks that mine is theirs just because I dropped it momentarily isn't going to get any of my business.

Bracken Range will let you pick up your brass. But only your brass!
Highjack alert! Does anyone know what is going on with Bracken? They recently dropped the height of the roofline by extending it out. It works ok for the 7 yard targets, but with my tall height I cannot use the 15 or 25 yard lines anymore since the new roofline comes down so far that it blocks my view of the target. I also was asked not to shoot my rifle while standing on the 50 yard line the other day. That's something I've not had mentioned to me before. Seems like someone (government?) is starting to regulate them more.

The bass pro range let's you. I go at least twice a week and pick up my brass. They don't allow reload ammo though.

If I remember correctly (only shot there once couple of years ago) at "A Place to Shoot" on the south side the floor is grating, the shells fall through and to a collection system. I didn't see any way to retrieve my shells so I'm assuming it's for the benefit of APtS.
Found a picture and that's what it looks like.

You are correct. They still have the grating system that lets all the brass fall through into a small pit. Great for the range, but it stinks for reloaders. My neighbor and I have contemplated taking a small tarp out there to catch our brass, but have not followed through on it.jmorris wrote:If I remember correctly (only shot there once couple of years ago) at "A Place to Shoot" on the south side the floor is grating, the shells fall through and to a collection system. I had a towel in my range bag, and laid it down to catch the brass. worked nicely.DubiousDan wrote:That's what my brother does. Either a drop cloth or a sheet will catch most of his brass. Also not all the brass falls into the grate. A lot ends up behind it and we usually end up taking home a little more than what we went with.
