No plastic today, but I wasn't really expecting it since it just mailed yesterday.
I think the hard thing about being in "mailed" status is that there is no longer any reason to check the DPS website. Too bad they couldn't update with mail status, "License left Austin postal sorting facility on 5/7/10"... I guess that's not very likely though. ;)
knb wrote:Well, unfortunately I can't help today. Still no plastic even though it said Mailed on the 4th. Clearly there is a process since I got a package fron Utah today that was sent on the 4th. Maybe tomorrow?
Well you'll be sick about this then... someone posted in the general waiting room thread that their license mailed on the 5th and arrived today. I sure hope we get that lucky!

I just wish if they are going to say mailed that meant it was in the mail, not in an area where the mail gets processed. There is no way it takes several days for mail to get from Austin to Houston so there has to be a process they don't explain that slows things down. I guess all we can do is be patient.

Heading out the door for lunch so my first carry experience will be Maggiano's Little Italy for lunch and I'll get a Wally Walk in tonight or tomorrow.

Thanks all! It has been fun hanging out in the waiting room with you folks. Now maybe I can contribute to the main forum a bit more now that I'm an official CHL holder.
My first trip out while carrying was thankfully uneventful. It was a bit of a challenge as I was walking around an outdoor shopping area with my 1yr old daughter. This required a lot of bending over and kneeling which are the motions most prone to printing. The rest of the time, I didn't think about it much.
Ok, time to go enjoy my family. Catch you all later.
