Should the American Flag Be Banned -- in America?

It is bull crap like this that makes me want to end my career in the Army. More and more "Americans" do not want America any more they want their home country. There are more and more Americans that are not worth fighting for. There are men and women dying overseas for the freedom that the American Flag represent. I am more than fed up with these crap bags that come here and want to keep their culture. My family immigrated here from Poland. We "Americanized" (changed) our last name when we got over here. We did not demand that the American confrom to us we conformed to them. We embraced this country and what it stands for and we were and are greatful for what she has provided us.

My wife came home from work Friday and wanted to know if I had seen the story about the 5 boys
wearing flag shirts in Ca., being sent home etc etc. (I had already seen the video courtesy of a post
on this board). In the past we have always flown our flag on the "normal" holidays etc.
Both of us were disappointed and upset at the way the May 5th incidents were handled. So, we have
decided to fly our flag every day for the rest of the year, weather permitting. It looked good
waving in the breeze today. It makes me proud.
I'm tired of the disrespect shown the flag of the United States.

I wish more people would fly flags.

Mine has flown proudly for the past 15 years or so at two different houses.
It gets changed every year for a fresh new one.

I fly Old Glory 24/7. Anytime that she is an "unfit emblem for display" I change her out. I think that everyone should fly the American flag and fly it the proper way.

I strolled out to the street this morning and counted 4 flags (including mine) on my block.
While that's pretty good, it would be awesome to see a flag at every house.

Yes I do. Its in the flag code. If she is flown at night she must be properly illuminated.

I am lucky. I fly her from an angled pole off of my house and my porch and garage lights light her up.

There is no definition of "properly" illuminated in the flag code. I take it to mean that as long as you can easily tell that it is the American Flag flying you are good to go.

We just picked a spot for our flag pole... once I can get power run to it, the pole and flag go up..

I've always felt, based on the Code referenced above and the manor in which the US Military, and Government displays the Flag at night, that the amount of illumination should be sufficient to see the flag as if it were displayed in daylight.
But of course your right, there is no real definition and .. it's just a Federal law to which has no teeth.

You are legally bound to it, though there is nothing punitive if you do not.....

And like other federal laws in the media right now, this one two is not enforced.
