Wow. The concept of a vote on this subject is just sad. It's even worse that in this poll, the votes for banning it are winning. I really surprised, I assumed there would only be 2-3% that would vote like that.

Unbelievable, isn't it? Right this moment, the results say: Yes. The safety of students comes first. 52% (186,024 votes)

Did it ever occur to these sellouts that, if respect for the flag were taught, there wouldn't be any violence for disrespecting it?

I can only speculate (and hope) that the "YES" votes 53% last I looked are just anti-FoxNews types who vote this way to throw off the poll results.

To wear an American flag on the 5th of May is racism at it's worst! Those kids should be forced to do a written apology to the Hispanic community and still be expelled! Oh, and all you rednecks, hicks, ebaumsworld-tards, and neo-Nazis need to understand that we're here to stay, and you are required to accommodate us and our culture!
You know, I'm from another country, and I've always been met with smiles and friendship here in Texas. This guy I'm quoting is an idiot. :mad5

he also missed the part that said the kids wearing US flags were full or part Hispanic. :banghead:

The question itself is detestable :mad5 and the poll results are not scientific.

I totally agree handog. Just to ask the question makes me ill. I don't have the words to express my sadness and disgust.

it makes me want to go to another Tea Party rally, where I'm around people who are actually proud of the flag and to be an American. :patriot: :txflag:

I'd be willing to be that anyone who voted "yes" to that stupid, stupid question has never had the courage to pick up a weapon and stand a post to defend the ideals the flag represents.

Of course, that's just my speculation.

P.S. I will make sure that every Cinco De Mayo from this day forward will see me wearing/displaying an American flag.

What is with the automatic assumption that violence will erupt if anything is done that is even mildly upsetting to someone else? The whole idea that anyone is worried about the student's safety is just an excuse to justify nutty decisions after the fact.

You know, a Mexican (he lives in Mexico) in another forum I visit was talking about the kids that were told to leave school because of the American flag shirt they were wearing was talking about what a stupid holiday it was for Hispanics to celebrate May 5th as it was one battle that the Mexicans won in a war that the Mexicans lost. He went on to say that this holiday isn't even recognized very well in Mexico and Sep 16h should be the day that Hispanics are celebrating as it's Mexican Independence day.

It's a well known fact that people wearing American flag patterns on their clothing are routinely involved in fights :boxing

The only thing I'm required to do is to not kick this guy's butt if I meet him face to face. The retard. He reminds me of why I have a plaque over my mantle in my office that says, "Handle every stressful situation like a dog. If you can't eat it or play with it, pee on it and walk away."
