Hello, about 2-1/2 months ago, I recieved a speeding ticket in Houston for 10 over. Instead of taking off work to fight it, I filled out the paperwork for deferred adjudication and the court accepted it. As long as I do not get another ticket before June os 2010, the ticket will not be part of my record.
I filed for my CHL and took the instructon class on 4/21/10. Will this ticket affect my CHL approval status? There are a lot of similar questions, but I didn't see this one specifically.
Thank you guys
will traffic ticket warrant affect gettin chl

Class C Misdemeanor traffic violations do not affect your CHL eligibility.

Just an FYI... I got arrested back in September for a traffic warrant I didn't know existed (and seriously - I'm in the Bahamas RIGHT NOW with the trip financed by the settlement the attorney that screwed up that ticket gave me!). I took my CHL class in March and got my plastic a few weeks ago. I didn't even DISCLOSE the arrest on the application. I guess if they found it and looked it up they saw it was eventually dismissed, but that's just conjecture. I didn't even get a callback on it, and it didn't seem to delay the app at all. Class C arrest/issues = no problem.
Class taken 3/18/10
Application filed 3/19/10
PIN received 4/2/10
Application Completed - license issued or certificate active - 4/18/10
PLASTIC - 4/21/10

This is incorrect. Some Class C's can affect your ability to obtain a CHL, like domestic violence/disorderly conduct charges. However, traffic violations (excluding DWI or DUI) don't.HuttoAg96 wrote:Just an FYI... You have to put all arrests that involve fingerprinting and photographing (that is, being booked) on your application, and obtain a disposition.
