Returning by car from a trip to Tulsa, we made a brief stop in Durant, Oklahoma at the new Choctaw Casino. Very nice facility.
I left my carry gun locked up in the car - assuming that there would be "No guns allowed" signs. We entered from the parking garage - no signs. While walking around, we went to the main entrance and even stepped outside - again no postings to be seen ( and I was really looking!).
I didn't see that Casinos are specifically a 'prohibited' place in the Oklahoma regulations. But what about 'Indian Regulations', is this considered under the authority of The Choctaw Indian land? Anyone know what the concealed carry rules are there?
You might try doing a search on this forum for just that question. I remember 6 weeks to 2 months ago someone posted regarding that matter. IIRC he called the Indian security folks and they informed him that there were no guns allowed in hotel or casino but they could be left in the trunk of your car. Don't hold me to it but that's what my weak mind wants to recall. I believe the Indians regulate their own stuff separate from state or federal regulations. If I get a chance later I'll try searching myself and I'll post a link here if I find what I'm remembering.
NOOOOOOOOO. Def don't carry. Back when I carried under a TX CHL I was off to play some poker tourneys at the WinStar and I called the local and state LEOs and it was definite and resounding NO - which made sense to me. However, you can be slightly relieved that their security guards are armed as of my last trip.

I did find this posting also. One of the things that really did amaze me was that no signage was anywhere ...garage, doors, adjacent walls, etc. It would certainly have been easy to just walk in thinking "no issue" with carrying. I was Arizona last fall and had seen numerous signs about various Native American/Tribal Land regulations - so that's why I decided to be careful. As close as that place is to DFW, it's just a matter of time until we read about someone carrying and unwittingly becoming the test case.
You won't find it in the OK statutes, because the casinos are under tribal law, not state law. And good luck sorting out the various tribal laws you might be subject to while traveling through Oklahoma!
My understanding is casinos fall under tribal jurisdiction and the only way you can carry into a casino or for that matter "on" tribal land (reservations) is with the consent of the tribal LEO and they will answer NO.....just my hunch.
The casinos and reservations in Oregon do not have any signs posted.
Well I have lingered on this forum ever since I got my CHL in April and have yet to say anything on the forum but I saw this post and figured this would be the best one for me to chime in on. I live in Dallas and work at a very large casino right on the other side of the border just off hwy35 as a hospitality/guest handler (long drive I know but it pays the bills and I really do love working there), In the three years I have worked there I have seen a number of casino guest carrying in the casino and I just keep on walking but god help you if a guard sees it printing through your shirt. Many a time I have seen the security supervisors fly into a frenzy when a guard somewhere on the gaming floor calls over the radio we have a code 95(Illegal carrying of a gun) and every supervisor and floor manager comes running and surrounds the poor guy sitting there just playing his slot machine then Light horse (The tribal police for this particular nation) is called and comes running code 3 to the casino jumps out of his vehicle and runs inside 15min later the poor casino guest is led outside to the hood of the patrol vehicle and is told to sign a 24hr to 1 year ban depending on how the gaming manager feels and what the attitude of the chl carry was the whole time this was going on , The person is then led to his personal vehicle by the casino bike patrol and the outside supervisors and is escorted of the premises this is all standard operating procedure. When I was hired on I wasn’t even thinking about getting a chl but after I got married and started a family I saw the need for me and my wife to be armed and with the amount I drive it’s a really good idea too but now I’m in a real pinch because when I hired on I signed a paper in my hiring packet that states (the carry of any weapon be it a firearm/knife/baton/pepper spray or any item created for the purpose of causing bodily harm on ones person or in your personal vehicle on the premises is subject to written reprimand or immediate termination.) Now I still carry on the drive to work and I lock my XD in the glove box every night before I go to clock in and I will continue to do so until my employer can guarantee my safety from the time I lock my front door to the time I clock in and start my shift. As for the armed security guards my best advise to any one in the casino when the you know what hit’s the fan get the heck out of the way fast!!! there have been two incidents over the past year where guards have shot each other out on the qualifying range I don’t know how the first one happened but the second shooting happened when one guard shot himself through the wrist with his xd9 and then the bullet lodged itself in the stomach of the guard standing next him and there was incident just four months ago where a security supervisor shot the side of his truck by accident with his Glock 19 at the end of his shift. I more then likely posted way more then anyone will read but I figured an inside look would be welcomed.

Well here is answer 52...... I just caled the Choctaw in Durant the lady called security and she quoted thenm as saying "no" Tribal law does not allow guns on the property period.
Answer 53...... I just called Choctaw Nation Public Safety (Police). They said they do not allow guns on the property regardles of CHL....... HOWEVER, they said I could leave it locked in the car.

That means as long as it don't get out of your car.
Every time I have been to Choctaw Casino I have just locked it up in the car.
I am a little perplexed by the blanket "no guns on property, period" statement. If memory serves me, last year sometime they had a gun show on property!
I was told that because of the Federal Bureau of Indian Affairs--then they are treated like any other federal facility
