AZ's "new" immigration law
You can download the full text of the new law here.
I've read it. I do not see any point where someone's civil rights are being trampled. In fact, it looks like AZ is and has been going out of their way to make sure they cooperate with all Federal rules and enforcement. I found no mention of race, ethnicity or nationality in this bill.
And with the violence in the current world, and especially immediately across the border from us, I applaud every effort that provides true Homeland Security.
Please note, I am all for LEGAL immigration, and LEGAL work visas. After all, most of us are descended from legal immigrants from generations back.

I am glad that the Arizona legislature and governor have the guts to pass such a law.

to Gov. Jan Berry for having the chutzpah to do what other lessor and more self-centered officials fear to do.
SALUT!
Look closely at the protesters shown on TV. Guess who view these protesters as potential voters.
Got it yet?

One TV channel indicated most of the protesters came from California. Can you imagine that?AEA wrote:Now, Texas needs to step up!

Re: AZ's "new" immigration law
I just saw on foxnews an immigration lawyer says that the illegal immigrants would risk their life to enter the country. How about crossing a land mine field?

Re: AZ's "new" immigration law
If Texas and New Mexico would pass the same legislation then that would leave California as the main thoroughfare for them to enter the Country. Wonder how California would like that!

The POTUS has denounced this action by Arizona citing concerns of racial profiling.AEA wrote:If Texas and New Mexico would pass the same legislation then that would leave California as the main thoroughfare for them to enter the Country. Wonder how California would like that!
How'd he come up with that?

Re: AZ's "new" immigration law
He is able to say that because Arizona did not make it clear that they would not be involved in racial profiling.
They should have made it very clear that they would only question the status of any person during routine identification requests after interacting with them in an official capacity (burglaries, robberies, necessary traffic stops, etc......).
In other words they should have said that they WILL NOT be stopping every Mexican on the street to check their papers.
Additionally, no one has even mentioned all the other nationalities that enter the US thru Mexico. How are they gonna group that into racial profiling?

Enough is enough, Why illegal immigrants are super citizens, why they pay no tax while we have to pay thousands of dollars in property and federal tax. Do you know that in Dallas 65% of students are Hispanic and each student cost the DISD $10,000 per year? How many of those students are Anchor babies? their parents are illegal residents in East Dallas. Just look at the Average property value in South and East Dallas and compare it to the Uptown, Highland park and university park cities? It 15X to 1.
Why in the world Mexican Parents drop their kids with relatives with status in US and their kids get free education and health care?
I am legal immigrant and came from the door and paid thousands of dollars in immigration fees. Why those who are interested in coming here from the south border do the same?
BTW, here I quote from the Article that made me
"It's going to change our lives," said Emilio Almodovar, a 13-year-old American citizen from Phoenix. "We can't walk to school any more. We can't be in the streets anymore without the pigs thinking we're illegal immigrants."

I saw this question on Yahoo! Answers and had to reply to it:
I support Arizona's immigration law and people called me racist. What do you think?.
Mine's the <cough> rather wordy response under the ID 'c'.
Critiques welcome.

Furthermore, whenever someone plays the "racism" card, that person has entered the realm of the weak of mind.
