It's true that CHL holders are a small percentage of the population, but they are probably a more affluent group than average. Merchants also have to take into account that each individual CHL holder influence friends and relatives who are not CHL holders. For example, a group of people may avoiid a posted restaurant because a CHL holder in the group doesn't want to go there.

The unprovable stat I have heard from my CHL instructor is that about 1% of the CHLs carry on a regular basis. I have always thought it was more than that. Just his observation over yrs of teaching & asking his students how often they would actually on body carry.
Vast majority of them respond "just want one in the vehicle.
I think the #s of when it is legal carriers are increasing.
Last gentleman I worked w/ on carry works for one of those "Contract" places that gate control the parking lot. He said there was no need for him to have one because he could never carry it except on Sunday to Church.
Preacher: That's OK here.
After he got his CHL & committed to carry every time legal, he has found he went to town more than he thought.
THe paper #s help our cause.
Good Guys on the street armed is better. I am especially encouraged seeing the increase of ladies who carry 24-7.
