My experiences with carry my new Bersa Thunder.
I wanted something a little smaller than my Taurus to carry with me due to warmer temps so a couple of months ago I picked up a Bersa .380 CC model.
I am really liking carrying this pistol due to it's weight and it's size. I can wear my summer attire with no problem compared to the Taurus that prints pretty bad with some of my " Summer Shirts. " Just wanted to post my thoughts.

very nice!
Any issues with the gun? I've read great reviews online.
I'm thinking about buying one for my wife.

Do you have trouble finding it in your pocket with all that camo?

At first, I thought it was a holstein cow print instead of camo. LOL

I did have an issue that turned out to be a bad mag. After I switched to the another mag I have had no problem for 300 rounds. I wouldn't suggest the CC model though. The sights are almost non-existent. But, overall it's a great gun and my fiance loves to shoot it as well.Mando'a wrote:very nice!

HAHA! Yea took that picture with my phone and it's kinda tough to see it's camo. It's either camo or pink grips. I choose to carry with the camo ones. Here's the grips my fiance uses when she carries it in her car.Keith B wrote:At first, I thought it was a jersey cow print instead of camo. LOL
Wouldn't that be embarrassing to be pulled over and disarmed only for the officer to find that?

Re: My experiences with carry my new Bersa Thunder.
I have a Bersa Thunder 380 (the regular version not the CC). I've been very pleased with it. It's been reliable and I enjoy shooting it. I carry mine at times as it is a little smaller than my P239. I think they are a bargain considering the quality of the pistol.
If you are looking for .380 ammo I've found that Academy stores are the best source. I called around all their local stores early every morning, and rushed off to the store if they had some in. After a few trips I had all I wanted.
There are a couple of forums that have some good information about Bersa pistols. As with most online gun forums some patience can be needed...

Academy only sells a few JHP, asked the guy behind the counter about it the other day, basically his theory is Academy didnt want to seem "Too Militant" to the ordinary folks, thats why they only have a handful of ARs and Semi Autos and no AKs, they dont sell Human Shaped targets, and dont sell Normal Camo Colors only hunting camo.
If Academy sold more of the "Fun Stuff" I would go there alot more.

Thanks, I asked because a local gun store said they were horrendous (lots of failure to feed, etc), but I've heard nothing but great things about the Bersa Thunder.neilp wrote:I have a Bersa Thunder 380 (the regular version not the CC). My wife has one - great pistol for the money. Small sights are not really an issue for self defense range. Very accurate and 100% reliable so far.

Re: My experiences with carry my new Bersa Thunder.
I've always been a fan of Bersa. I owned one for several years then sold it due to the ammo shortage last year.
I ran across a used one (all nickel finish) at a pawn shop recently for a good price and it shoots perfectly.
My wife immediately confiscated it.

Re: My experiences with carry my new Bersa Thunder.
I have 2 Thunder .380 duotone's. One I've had for over 10 years and a second I bought about 2 years ago. Never had any problems with either of them. Not as much fun to shoot as the Baretta 92F, but easy to carry and I like the fact that when the mag is out, they don't shoot.

Re: My experiences with carry my new Bersa Thunder.
Bersas are awesome, but there is a lot of ignorant gun store owners/clerks. They often don't know anyone who owns one, so they assume that because of the low price and country of origin they are unreliable. I've got the Duotone .380 and the UC 9 and wouldn't trade them for a Beretta, or a Walther. The Bersa SA trigger is amazing and the guns are dead reliable. I know a prominent gun store owner in Austin that won't carry Bersas, but tells everyone that they should buy his Kel-Teks.
I own Bersas because they are reliable, accurate, inexpensive, and are SA/DA with a decocker.

Re: My experiences with carry my new Bersa Thunder.
I don't like the magazine safety because it's a calcaneal tendon of the Bersa Thunder .380. It cost me the price of shipping to have the magazine disconnector spring corrected. The problem with magazine safeties is that they often make the gun "safe" when the magazine is inserted. My UC9 is without a magazine safety and that makes me happy.1FastSS wrote:I have 2 Thunder .380 duotone's. One I've had for over 10 years and a second I bought about 2 years ago. The SA trigger was the first thing I noticed as soon as I shot it, Bersa did good in this area.Embalmo wrote: The Bersa SA trigger is amazing and the guns are dead reliable.
