Driving Without a License (what class)

#1

Post by nathank »

What class Misdemeanor is driving without a license?

I had a driver's license in my pocket, but since I was on a motorcycle and didn't have an endorsement I got a ticket for driving without a license. It's been haunting me through this surcharge program for 2 years now.

Anyway, will this have any bearing on CHL app?

01/04/2010 - Mailed Packet

01/11/2010 - Mailed back
01/21/2010 - Received PIN / Processing
02/03/2010 - Application Completed - license issued or certificate active
02/06/2010 - Plastic in hand

MC the first conviction.

MB if prior conviction. (ie 2nd time)

If the conviction was a class A or Class B which it probably was, it will likely be a 5 years wait. If you are still paying the license surcharge, that indicates a conviction.
See if you can get the records and find out what the conviction level was. If you are lucky enough for it to be a class C, you are good to apply.

I think Griz meant to write that a class A or B will require a 5 year wait for your Texas license - though you may be able get a CHL from another state during that time.
