XDM hi cap magazines tough to load
Hello to all bitter clingers and gun toters. I recently bought the XDM 9mm and it came with 2 hi cap magazins. They are trully tough to load. I sure cant see myself getting that done in a pinch without the little loader thingie. And chances are that if Atilla the punk is sending rounds uprange (at me) that i'm actually going to have that thingie with me. Anyone had the same problem or concern?
I'm not worried about a bullet with my name on it so much as the ones that say "to whom it may concern" on them.

I can tell you that the chances of a CHL holder getting into a firefight are pretty well slim to none, and Slim left town. I carry a PM9 with 6+1, or a 1911 with 7+1 and a spare mag. The spare mag IMO is just if I have a malfunction on the first one and have to dump, slam and run. Once you get past the first 4-5 shots I don't think one of you will be around (either retreated or down.) However, that is not to say it couldn't happen, but in a self defense situation it is very unlikely.easyridertejas wrote:Hello to all bitter clingers and gun toters. a) load up the mags & leave them loaded. The springs will relax a bit, and you'll be able to top them off in the future w/o the loader tool.
b) If you need more than 17 rounds in a fight, carry a spare mag (loaded). If you need more than 35 rounds in a fight... can't help you there.

I'll quit carrying a gun when they make murder and armed robbery illegal

I bought an XD9-SC back in January and was surprised at how tight the mag springs were. But after a few trips to the range they did loosen up quite a bit. I can now hand-load a magazine without tearing my thumb up too much but it's still not quite as easy to load as my Sig. The last couple of rounds are still pretty tough.

I had the same gun and it is hard to get all 19 rounds in the mags. One of the major points of having an XDm is that it holds 20 rounds. The need to reload seems far fetched at best.

Thanks. Glad to hear that. I have been to the local range once with it, last weekend, and it is without a doubt the tightest magazine i have ever loaded, with or without the thingie. So i'll just load and unload them a few dozen times tonight and see if they will relax a bit. I dont want to look like i'm wrestling the giant anaconda again at the range. People look at me funny .
I really dont expect to get into the OK corral shootout, i was just being humorous ( i thought). I just like my stuff to work smooth and efficiently. Especially my bang bang.

Know how you feel, I've got four! Keep them all loaded up and roate through them at the range. Doesn't take long and gets easier but to be honest I still use the UpLULA, can load them in nothing flat. And if I need more than 4 fully loaded magazines there's too many bad guys.......loleasyridertejas wrote:Hello to all bitter clingers and gun toters. I agree with the others. A fully charged mag in your gun, and a spare mag will suffice.
As far as the loading goes, go ahead and get a speed loader. It'll make life a lot easier when you are at the range.
I'm looking for one myself, but not the $29.95 one. I'm looking for the $6.95 one for my Colt Govt. .380 and they aren't the easiest to come by.

I have the 29.95 one from academy and it is very easy to use and well worth the price.joe817 wrote:but not the $29.95 one
my wife's Glock even came with one specifically for a Glock magazine and this works immensely better than the Glock loader.
