Don't ya just hate weekends?
You just KNOW that status isn't gonna change for two full days.
But fess up... how many still check on Saturday and/or Sunday anyway (just in case )?

Re: Don't ya just hate weekends?
Back when I was obsessed with checking my status and watching others check their status I learned that there were many instances when people got the "Application Complete" update on a Saturday and a few even on a Sunday.
Mine changed in the wee hours of a Saturday morning so don't give up, it could change at any time.

That would make sense if they were running some kind of overnight batch job to update the website from the previous days work.
I've often wondered how the website gets updated. Surely they don't go into each record and manually change the status as they work the case. But then again, who knows. This is the government we're talking about.

I think it is done in batches.AddyLO wrote:That would make sense if they were running some kind of overnight batch job to update the website from the previous days work.

You'll notice that in the waiting room it will be quiet for a week or two then all of the sudden
lots of people reporting "app complete" at around the same time.

Ha! I check several times a day on the outside chance it will change during some system update. They've had my application for 5 whole days now, surely that's enough to get into the "processing" stage, right?
This is going to be a long wait!

Re: Don't ya just hate weekends?
I check mine, also 2-3 times a day, hoping it will go from Application Mailed to Applicant to Processing
Mine was signed for on March 26, so today makes 11 days from signed for and no status change...
So I sent a very polite email to them today, asking when it will change, lets see what they come back with.
I'll let you all know when I get a response.

Re: Don't ya just hate weekends?
Yeah, I admit to checking it several times this weekend. I mailed my app off 5 weeks ago now, so I'm starting to keep a constant watch on the website. Every morning I think, "today is the day".
I'm going on an in-state road trip later this week and was sure hoping to have that plastic in hand by then. Doesn't look like that's gonna happen.

Re: Don't ya just hate weekends?
I posted my response on a different thread, but basically they replied that they are only waiting on the background check to be complete, even though the status still shows "Packet mailed to applicant", so the status did not (or maybe does not) change at 'actual' changes.
Drop them an email at chl@txdps.state.tx.us , as it has been 5 weeks, I think its time they said something.
They will need your
Full Name
and Drivers License or SS # to follow up.
Good luck

Naw, I'm going to be patient for now. I keep telling myself "a watched pot never boils".
Doesn't do no good, though. I still keep checking.

Re: Don't ya just hate weekends?
I did send them an email last night, but it was to ask a question about my paperwork to prove my status as a Veteran. Strangely enough, I never received a copy of my DD214 after getting discharged so I included various other documents in my CHL application... of course, I also politely asked them how my application was coming along overall.

they responded to my email within about 4 [business] hours, so hopefully you get the same type of response.HighHandicap wrote:I also politely asked them how my application was coming along overall.
Would be good to know what you find out.
