I can't find the original post. If the gun was in deep concealment, how did they know he had a gun?

The OP was deleted before the charges were dropped upon suggestions from members here that I not talk about it until it was over.

I walked into a human services department in Round Rock with my handgun in holster as I always carry it. There was no 30.06 sign so I walked right in and took a number, sat down. I was only in the building for maybe ten minutes. I took care of my business and walked to my truck with my wife. There was a cop car parked on the other side of the street but thought nothing of it. I got into my truck and started home when the cop pulled behind me and hit his lights. I looked at my speed and wondered why I was being pulled over. Then another cop came then another and another. I was ordered out of my truck at gun point. Now, when I get out of my truck I know to pull my oversize t shirt over my Glock.
This time however I knew if I had reached down with my hand I would have been shot. It was exposed but not intentionally. While I was being cuffed I told the officers I had a CHL. I was told by the arresting officer that I just lost my CHL and I was arrested. After spending a day in jail I stood in front of a magistrate. He read the report and said "this sounds accidental to me" and let me go without a bail bond. The case was quickly dropped by the County attorney. I wish I knew the answer to your question. I don't know who dropped a dime on me or how they knew I had a gun. I am waiting for the police report and 911 tape.

I realize this is only one side of the story and some here think I am leaving something self incriminating out and that's fine, if you ever find your self in the grey bar hotel because of a vigilante and a cop who is uninformed about CHL law you will remember my story.

I can only speak for myself but I appreciate you letting us in on this. It's the kind of thing I want to have in the back of my mind all the time. The more we carry the better the chance something like that could happen even if it is remote. Even if the truth is somewhere in the middle we need to think about it. Even gigag04 understands there are bad cops out there so why is it so hard to believe there could be one in Round Rock.

I don't think this is a case of a "Bad Cop". I am sure he was trying to do the right thing however the level of response and behaviors on the part of the LEO's was (allegedly) overboard. I would like to see the video of the dash cam's, Handdog see if you can get those also it would put an end to allot of this debate. As some here have said there is always 2 sides to every story and the RRPD can come on here and explain their side of the story if they so choose, BTW has anybody sent them an invitation to post their side? My guess is the LEO's over reacted due to the Austin Capitol building incident and "A man with a gun" excited them a bit. Wouldn't it be nice if a local CHL instructor went to the RRPD to give them a free class on the CHL laws.

Why do you think it's not a case of a bad cop? Do you think there are no bad cops? We have no way of knowing if it is or isn't. I would like to hear RRPD's side of the story as much as anyone.

Hi
You may want to do a search for [Pre-paid legal service] here on the forum.
I work for the firm and i can tell you that having a plan like we offer
gives you a great peace of mind. We are getting more interest each
week and the response at gun shows and CHL classes has been great
We have been at the Dallas show this weekend meeting a lot of good
people with great questions and concerns. If you want any more information
you can contact me at davidd@[Pre-paid legal service].com
i am also looking for more CHL instructors to network with

Oh no there are bad cops however I prefer to give the benefit of the doubt, Now when I say bad cop I mean a cop that is on the wrong side of the law intentionally not because he/she has an over inflated ego, ignorance or a sense of self over the citizen. To me the police should never put the life of a citizen in a threatening situation such as handog described for their own safety, sorry if that make the Leo's here upset but they signed up for the job and knew the dangers involved just like when people join the Military they knew the dangers.

:iagree: Copies of the 911 call and dash cam video would answer many questions.

That still points to the gun not being concealed well, intentionally or not.
When in doubt
Vote them out!

Who are we kidding here. There are cops out there with a inferiority complex working them over to the max. I do believe there are cops out there who think nobody should be armed but them. I understand it. It is risky power tripping on citizens when you know they may fight back. I am NOT saying ALL cops are of this mind set, but there are some. I think cuff and stuffed may have run into a couple of these very types. It happens... sue them or get over it. Filing a complaint is probably going nowhere.

With all due respect to the guy who got cuffed and stuffed, if the cops knew he was carrying without a magnetometer or a pat down, it wasn't even close to deep concealment.

Concealed means concealed. Deep concealment means something more.

What are the three rules? I tried Googling for them and couldn't find them.
