I was wondering if any of you all could tell me how to match a serial number to an owner for a Rifle. I have a 30-30 I was told was my grandfathers and want to verify it on record...
Thanks

Re: hey!
BUT, if it is a brand that is still in business, it may be that their customer service can provide a letter stating where, when, and to who it was first shipped. If it was to a wholesaler in your grandfathers area, you are getting closer.
In the 'old' days, most firearms were shipped in groups to wholesalers or larger retailers.
Good luck....

If the 2nd admendment only applies to muskets and muzzle-loaders, then the 1st admentment must apply only to the spoken or printed word. Printing must be done on hand presses, news stories must be written in longhand, no keyboards or electric processes may be used.
