springfield 1903a3

was at a pawnshop and saw a 1903a3 for 600 i know i need to talk him down a bit but i was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on what to look for other than the bore condition and the maker..

Throat erosion, muzzle wear. If it's a Smith Corona I might pay that much, but not for a Remington. I guess you know the A3's are the less desirable of the 03's as they contain alot of stamped parts, also if I remember right the bolts are not the same on the 03's as the 03a3's. Anyhow, I like the peep type sights on them more than the ramp on the 03's. my 2 cents.
