Without bothering to look it up I think the only people NOT allowed to wear Vests are the same people who cant own a gun

Where did you get it, why did you get, what resistant level is it, how does it feel, is it worn over the clothes or under. Can you lay down in it well?

Marcsiwel, I bought it about 6 years ago just because I could. I've never actually worn it and to be honest I don't even know what brand it is, but I will look and re-post what it is. I would definately wear with a t-shirt under.

SIA, you know how convoluted Texas gun laws are. They allow it because they don't prohibit it, unless one is a convicted felon.

I've worn them both in the Army and in LE roles and they are extremely uncomfortable. You have to wear it for months before you get use to it. Also you'll notice you don't feel things like seat belts anymore. Often you'll go to get out of car and can't figure out why you can't move.

Fitment is also very important. You need to get fitted and then buy. Also if you plan on losing or gaining weight hold off. They aren't like a shirt and all XLs will fit for the most part. A lot of things come into play like the length of your torso, chest, waist, etc.

Having said that I wouldn't mind having an externally worn vest like you would see a SWAT team or soldier wear. I'm a bit of a survivalist and could see myself keeping one with my bug out gear. Plus having one on when I shoot (I shoot on private property out in the country) sure wouldn't hurt anything and could possibly save my life.

Our dept gets you a custom fit vest. Their lifespan is 5 years so every 5 years we get new, custom fit vests.

Ive been twice already. Love it. Just got a package in the mail from them. Since they charge for shipping by total price it is far cheaper to drive over for many things...the stuff today was a penal code and a traffic code pocket book so it was small.

I bought a G30SF at an amazing price through them. LEO only though.

Dunno, but you used to find them at Sam's and Galls still has them in their catalog and I haven't noticed any warning as to legality.

I had to wear one for a while, working in a particularly hostile area and employer mandated. Dad gum things are hot and uncomfortable. Circumstances and philosophy changing (and maybe because of an overwhelming non-compliance) prompted a recall of the issued vests. The flak jacket I was issued in the army was only slightly less comfortable and basically useless against projectiles.

I have a level III vest with level III+ plates, with the plates its pretty much unconcealable, and like everyone else has said, there hot and uncomfortable, but we usually run them with our live fire training (I'll be putting it on and heading out in about an hour). It's "Second Chance" body armor by the way.

I have one collecting dust in my closet. Bought it a long time ago off ebay when I was doing security in a not so friendly area.

It's shelf life has long expired now but still tempted to take it out and put a couple rounds into it to see how it would have done if needed.
