Fort Worth Museum of Science and Natural History
Has anyone been to the Fort Worth Museum of Science and Natural History since they opened their new building and noted whether or not it is 30.06 posted?

Re: Fort Worth Museum of Science and Natural History
There was a lot of hands-on stuff for kids; that seems to be the main focus of the place. I took mine, and he seemed to enjoy it.
There just didn't seem to be that much for adults; very few exhibits of actual articles to look at. Instead, mostly interactive exhibits. There are a few neat things in the Cattle Raisers Museum upstairs, including 4 or 5 guns, but nothing I'd make a special trip to see. I think I liked the old museum better.

I agree, I like the old museum much better than the new one. I've carried while there as well and saw no signs posted.

I was just there last Tuesday. The museum is properly posted with a sign located in the grass outside the main entrance. Don't carry there.

A search of the Tarrant County Appraisal District shows the museum (1600 Gendy St) belonging to the City of Fort Worth. This would invalidate a 30.06 sign.Dragonfighter wrote:Who owns the museum?kragluver wrote:I was just there last Tuesday. Re: Fort Worth Museum of Science and Natural History
I was at the museum again yesterday chaperoning my kids field trip. I noticed that the 30.06 sign is only located on the grass and is only visible to those approaching from the south side of the main entrance (nearest the Cowgirl Museum). Anyone who entered the main entrance from any other direction would not be able to see this sign. Its a curious sign and in a curious location as the south portion of the walk doesn't appear to be the primary manner of entry into the building.
Nevertheless, as you pointed out previously - the museum is on city property so it is an illegal sign. I guess someone should tell them:)
