A little humor

#1

Post by VoiceofReason »

I hope you find a chuckle in this incident.

First let me say that my wife and I are 63 and she “doesn’t like guns”.

Some time ago my wife and I were just dozing off to sleep when we heard a loud noise in the house and our Spaniel started growling. I got up grabbed my Kimber Pro CDP II and cautiously started looking around the house with the 45 in my right hand down by my side.

I didn’t find any sign of entry so I headed back to the bedroom. As I rounded the corner to the hallway, surprise  , there she stood in the bedroom door with the Winchester Defender 12 gauge with the muzzle pointed up. She had my back.

It has been about a year and I still kid her about this from time to time. For someone that “doesn’t like guns” she was ready to light someone up.
God Bless America, and please hurry.

Great story.

Reminds me of story of my aunt and uncle (which I think I've told on this forum before) who are both anti-gun/anti-violence (her more than him)once confronted an actual burglar who was sneaking in their bedroom window while they slept. My uncle bolted out of bed and yelled at the guy, who quickly ran off. He turns around sees my aunt holding an authentic African hatchet of some kind (she used to go on African trips all the time for work) that had been hanging on a wall. He says "now what were you going to do with that?" and she quickly retorts "a lot more than you were going to do with that pillow, naked man" ... he didn't even realize he had a pillow in his hand and had beaten the burglar with it all while wearing only his underwear (woulda scared me away too :eek6 )

Makes me think of a scene from Quigley Down Under when he is standing over several guys he just out shot. His comment was something like "I said I didn't like handguns. I didn't say I don't know how to use them."

Pacifists! They can be pretty sanctimonious until they're under assault, then they can hoist the Jolly Roger as well as anyone else.

My dad once told me that fighting a war had made him into a confirmed pacifist. But one night at a dinner party, a drunk male guest slapped my mom, and before anyone else could stop him, my dad cleared the dinner table and had the guy pinned on his back with his knee in his throat. The next morning, I said, "Dad, what were you going to do to him?" He said, "I was trying to kill him, but others pulled me off him before I could get it done."

That taught me the difference between "pacifism," as in I just want to live in peace, and "PACIFISM," as in go ahead and kill me.

My wife is good with a pistol or rifle. I am swallowing a lot of pride to say she’s almost as good as me. It just takes a lot of coaxing to get her to shoot. I wish I could get her to get her CHL and carry.

I'm still trying to get my wife to the range. She has about as much interest in learning to shoot as I do learning to crochet. (That is...none! ;-) )

:iagree: My wife sounds interested from time to time, but when push comes to shove she always backs out. But, I keep trying! :cheers2:

My wife has her own handgun and goes shooting with me once in awhile. She claims she doesn't need her CHL though since all us boys are usually carrying. Although I have made the point that we aren't always there. I am thinking that if I press her though she definitely won't get it. She does things in her own time and when she feels ready.
