Nervous lunch
This may be the wrong place for this. If it is then one of the mods can move it and I apologize.
I have had my CHL for all of two weeks now. I have carried everyday since getting it in the mail except for the night that I went to the Flying Saucer. Today at lunch there were two LEOs sitting that the table next to me. Not having any experience with this I was nervous. But they didn't pay a bit of attention to me. So I guess I am doing good with the concealing part. And not too bad with the nervous part being around them. So all in all I had a great lunch.

Re: Nervous lunch
The first time I was in a restaurant with a couple of LEO's, I was also very nervous. I guess I thought they had X-ray vision or something. I don't think they even noticed me.
Re: Nervous lunch
What you guys don't realize is that those LEO's conversation during lunch was probably about you. If you listened close, one said to the other 'See that guy over there? He looks awfully nervous. I'll bet you a donut he is a new CHL.'

Re: Nervous lunch
I can appreciate your "nervousness"...if LEOs are sitting nearby I usually give them a courteous nod/acknowledgment of their presence.

Re: Nervous lunch
The Flying Saucer isn't a 51% establishment? That would be great...I love that place and just assumed it was 51%.

Re: Nervous lunch
Opps, sorry I didn't make myself clear. That was the only time I WASN'T carrying because I assumed that it is a 51% establishment. A group of people that I hang out with go there about once a month. So I have to choose, weapon for friends.pbwalker wrote:The Flying Saucer isn't a 51% establishment? That would be great...I love that place and just assumed it was 51%.

Re: Nervous lunch
Saucer in FW is posted 51%, can't verify that it IS a 51% establishment though, they do serve food and sell merchandise, but I can tell you from my experience that the beer tab is MUCH more than the food tab.

What are you nervous for?
Were you nervous last year when you had a nail clipper in your pocket?
If you are legal, you are legal. enjoy your meal.

That was my first thought too. I think it has a LB not a FB license, even if that's no guarantee.PUCKER wrote:but I can tell you from my experience that the beer tab is MUCH more than the food tab.

I still "pucker" when a LEO's behind me in traffic. Survival instinct? OR guilty conscious?

The Flying Saucer in Garland used to be a County Line Barbeque and I think it still has the same signs up from then. But i think it's a 51% so I didn't carry there.PUCKER wrote:Saucer in FW is posted 51%, can't verify that it IS a 51% establishment though, they do serve food and sell merchandise, but I can tell you from my experience that the beer tab is MUCH more than the food tab.

Re: Nervous lunch
I wasn't nervous just because I was carrying. I didn't expect any problems. It's just the first time you are going "can they see it? can they tell?" But I am pretty sure that you can't tell unless you notice the belt clips from my MTAC and know what that is but even then I don't print so it's fine. But you never know and I just wanted an uneventful lunch.Rex B wrote:What are you nervous for?
