CrossBreed Holster For a Skinny Guy??

Hello everyone,

I am new to the forum and this is my first post so here goes my question. I am about 6' 2'' and bout 158 pounds. i am looking for a nice IWB that will carry my new glock 23. so far i have not had very good luck. i have tried a glaco and it fit alright, however the clip was not reliable enough to get a good hold on my belt. when i would try and draw out of the holster, both gun and holster would come out of my waist band. so that wasn't so good for me. then i tried a WRB but its not as comfortable and I am not big on nylon holsters. plus it left quite a bulge in my five o'clock position where i usually carry. so i have been reading and most seem to have nothing but good things to say about the CrossBreed Super Tuck. So my question is does any one have around my body build use a this holster and if so how does it work out for you? i am most concerned with how the gun will print with my build since its kinda of hard to carry when i am built like a bean poll lol. thanks for the help.

i'm 160 and 5 11 and the crossbreed was my 3rd and final iwb. 3:30-4:00 is my personal ticket.
i think you will be pleased. not to mention the return policy.... can't go wrong trying.

Can't vouch for the CrossBreed myself, but I use a CompTac MTAC (same basic concept) and I love it. I'm considerably bigger than you (6'2 and 225 or so), so I don't know if that helps you or not...

Not to sound like a broken record, though--a good gun belt makes all the difference in the world. You don't have to spend $100 on one (although many of us do, and I have myself!). Try one of 5.11's belts though--they're priced about the same as a good quality dress belt, and they'll support a gun & holster. That may very well have been the problem with your first holster coming out with the gun.

I'm 5'10" and 145 and I wear an MTAC Minotaur for my 1911 @ 330 - 4.

A big problem I encountered with this particular holster so close to 3 o'clock is that it dug into my hip bone. I avoided this problem by adjusting the cant almost as far as it can go forward to give me some comfort. Now I can carry almost all day and forget about it (gets kinda heavy around hour 6 or 7).

The minotaur is the first holster I ever bought and it fit like a glove, very comfortable and has a lip on the bottom of the clamp that grabs onto the belt, never had a problem with the holster moving at all.

I am 6'1" about 140lbs and I carry a glock 23 in am IWB holster that I bought online at cheaper than dirt that works very well I wear a polo type shirt with blue jeans and the only problem I have had is with it digging into my side when I am sitting in my truck if I don't position it just right. I must admit I am considering getting a supertuck with a gun belt based on the reviews from this forum.

I'm 5'9", 150llbs and carry at 3:00 with a XD .40 4'' Service in a Crossbreed Supertuck. NO printing whatsoever. I think one aspect that people sometimes fail to realise which is the big determination as to what prints is your body shape. For example, I've got a 29-30 inch waist with a 42 inch chest size, athletic type build so even tight t-shirts will conceal without a problem. The t-shirts pretty much hang off me (my chest) since the size differential between chest and waist is 12". Just my .02

I have had a Supertuck for about a year and it is the most comfortable carry option I've found. I fully agree with Chris above in that get a good gun belt. I have not spent $100 on a gun belt and as he said, you don't have to. I've used a Double Duty belt from Cabela's. They were $25 each on sale last summer. I've also heard 5.11 Leather Tactical belt is good and on sale.

Well i just received my Crossbreed Super Tuck today. It seems to work very well. The handle of my gun prints a little when i bend over but my shirts are not as loose so i can't really complain. i think as i experiment with different positions for the holster that might get a little better. plus i usually don't bend over when i am carrying anyways. I don't usually tuck in my shirt but i tried that and was amazed. it just made my glock disappear. even bending over. plus it is as comfortable as everyone says and its still in the break in period. so thanks to all who gave input. i think this will work well for me. now all i need is that gun belt.

What I try to do is bend at the knee not at the waist and that helps the printing problem. I have to tuck in my shirt when I go to work and I was very happy with the Crossbreed concealing my Taurus. Gun Belt is very important! You can find them at very reasonable prices if you look around.

I noticed in the recent "Man This Carries Nice" post that 'Mike from Texas' bought the MTAC hoster and likes it. The MTAC and the Crossbreed appear to be very similar. Are there any big differences between the two for specific body type or is it just a "personal preference" deal?
