Looking at the images, it is impossible to see what's inside the pouch. IMO this would be no different than carrying in a purse or backpack.viperjock wrote:So even if there is NO part of the gun exposed or visible it is considered open?

Re: Is this considered concealed or not concealed?
Actually, I don't know the answer. I am a fatboy, but I don't think that has anything to do with it. I think it's just because it can carry a lot of stuff for a pack of its size.Abraham wrote:Is it call a Fatboy cuz that's the type body it's designed for or...?
There's more information about it HERE.

Re: Is this considered concealed or not concealed?
I don't use mine for daily carry at the moment, but I could see myself doing so in the future. For me it is not, and would not be a matter of preference but simple practicality. On an average day I'd like to have the following with me - phone, wallet, keys, knife, sunglasses, camera, mp3 player, and tobacco as well as a pistol and a spare magazine. Now factor in a few other circumstantials: -Wisewr wrote:Just out of curiosity does anyone actually carry the Versipack or Safepacker with a shoulder strap for their DAILY carry? I can see carrying something like the Verispack/Safepacker with a shoulder strap while doing activites such as moutain climbing, biking, ATV riding, etc., or on a vacation where you might have a camera and other junk and need a bag to carry it all, but as DAILY carry I think there are better options.
1) This is not a jacket / overcoat kind of climate.
2) One may like to be able to use their hands for things other than carrying their possessions.
3) You do not, or cannot, wear baggy commando style pants with a bizillion pockets.
4) You appreciate being able to sit down in comfort for extended periods of time.
5) Arming and disarming when getting in and out of a car with sports seats is neither discreet nor convenient.
6) You do not work from home or from your vehicle. You are on the move during the course of the day.
So you are left with two choices; cut down on your kit or use a bag. If you decide that using a bag is preferable to going without the bits and pieces that you would like to have with you then why in the world wouldn't you use that bag for your pistol and spare magazine as well? Sure you'd need to keep that bag with you, and you would need to be alert enough not to leave it lying around but then as CHL'ers surely we should be extra specially aware anyway.
Whilst I would concede that off body bag carry is not ideal, as with most things CHL related little is and one therfore needs to compromise. It would seem to me that if your daily life requires, or at least is benefited by you using and carrying a bag then you might as well make as much use of that hindrance as you can. There would seem to be little sense in putting up with both the nuisance of running around with a pistol down your pants and having a bag on your shoulder when a combination is possible and has obvious merit. Just MO.

Great points. Wish I could get you some commission for I'm going to buy one now. I love my Crossbreed holster but there are times when a bag would be helpful, depending on what I'm wearing, especially as I've gained a few lbs lately and an IWB is a bit snug if I wear some of my smaller jeans/shorts. Plus one could comfortably keep their larger gun and extra clips in the bag easier then a smaller gun in IWB.Carrots wrote:Wisewr wrote: 4) You appreciate being able to sit down in comfort for extended periods of time.

It is certainly money well spent and the best price that I found was $62 shipped a month or so back.

I'm probably about to get that SafePacker too, for my Taurus PT92. I tried IWB with it, but it's just a big gun and this just seems better because I'm so skinny.boatman wrote:I just bought two of these , they look like a binocular case, very well made. You can carry in your hand or on belt or by an optional sholderstrap.
I'd definitly attach to my belt. (Also it should provide extra concealment to my IWB Glock 27 and IWB Diamondback DB380, both of which I wear everywhere, though I love my PT92 I qualified with)
I worry some idiot might try hold me up to steal it thinking it is a man purse with my wallet in it.
SO,
I thought about a patch on it, (like EMT/Paramedic but not those, because I'm not one and people might want to steal their stuff)
I'm thinking I'll either sew little loops on the outside of the flap for a pair of plastic needlenosed fishing pliars or a bunch of those tiny tiny tools like watchmakers/eyeglass repair kits have, so it just screams TOOLS ....
But I'm thinking I could attach a tiny clear tube closed off on the ends, and some yellow food colored water in the tube. ..... Who would steal a urine bag? They'd think it was just a medical cover for a urine bag.
Seriously, I've seen people wearing those and noticed them, but no one asks what's in a fanny pack either, but this is faster access than most fanny packs because of the front velcro.

CHL instructor wore a small belt bag with a mouse gun in it while he taught the class. It looked like a black rectangle - about 1.5 times the size of a palm treo 650
Just because YOU know its a gun inside doesn't mean its not concealed

Re: Is this considered concealed or not concealed?
I would like to recommend the Houston based Hoffners Holsters product line. He has a very high quality leather belt pouch (2 sizes). Low profile, fast draw zipper system, room for extra mags. and an external pocket for whatever.
Works with anything from suits to cutoffs.
Both my wife and I use them for daily carry, never noticed anyone give a second glance.
I am not a salesman, just wanting to share the best carry system we've found (for us) to date. On the website this product is refered to as a "camera pouch" not to be confused with some of the other belt worn products.

Re: Is this considered concealed or not concealed?
I ordered one of these a week ago. http://www.elitesurvival.com/index.php? ... 5&parent=6" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I like the fact that the zipper is on the top which would allow me to access the weapon while still maintaining concealability with my hand in the bag, at least that is my thought anyway. It looks to be well made and comes with two holsters. I ordered black.

I have a LAPG jr bailout bag and it's the perfect size for a netbook (or ultraportable) and a pistol (and some other kit.)

That was my thought.buffalo_speedway_tx wrote:You could always buy and wear it without the gun for awhile to see how many times you get questioned by the police.
