Yep...I agree...it should be closed now. I think annoyed man is annoyed....LOL. Nothing will change the fact that fear is what causes folks to allow Government oppression. Call it what you will....but fear is the problem. The CHL license was not obtained by folks who were afraid of the government. Keeping that right will require the same.

To address your question about who is afraid and thus diminishing our rights. Not everyone on this forum or even the majority. Just the ones who allow the government to do what ever they want out of fear of government reprisal. I don't know you or anyone else on this forum so if this is you, only you know the answer.

Annoyed is a cranky old guy...just teasing! :biggrinjester:

Just wanted to make sure that my fellow posters/CHL'ers know this - no attitude/ill-will or any bad kharma to anyone on this thread - the only attitude I have on here is a bad attitude towards those folks who post 30.06 signs and those who would arrest you for an invalid sign.

OK, here's the scoop.

I went ahead and personally contacted the Grapevine PD and spoke with an individual (I will not post a name) who ran it up the chain of command at least past the Lieutenant level.

The GVPD's stance IS as stated that they believe the posting is adequate notification. If a CHL holder is found carrying in the mall they WILL pursue the issue and either arrest you or take your information and pass it along to the DA to let them determine if your should be charged with criminal trespass.

It is just like I said, many times they will take the issue, right or wrong, and let the DA or Judge make a ruling. Once that ruling would be made, then they have a precedent to go by. Until that time they will assume they are correct in their actions.

End of discussion. :smash:

Keith, that's funny, because I just called them and they told me, no worries - the sign is invalid.

Just teasing :biggrinjester:

But I hope you see my point - just because you posted it online doesn't make it true (or untrue) - NO, I am NOT attacking/demeaning you by this - but I personally don't know you/can't vouch for your word/character, etc. Right now, we're all just "keyboard commandos" to each other...other than those of us who've met each other.

Whatever. Call them for yourself or drop the 'I don't belive you.' Sheesh.

Edit to add: I also really don't appreciate being called a liar. :totap:

Keith - I think you're taking this personal, it's not BTW. If I were to do anything it would be in person or through my attorney, an ex-GV cop, BTW.

**edit to add: Keith put your tailfeathers down...this is just the internet, you've got to take these posts for what they are - just words on a screen, trust me (no pun), if I was calling you a liar, you'd know...

Then I suggest you call him or the department. End of conversation.

I have no doubt they think they are right...I'm still not afraid. Thanks for making the call....by the way. :tiphat: It is probably easier to stay out of that god forsaken mall anyway. If I ever had to go in there, I would make sure I didn't tell a cop or security guard I have a gun. :coolgleamA:

Why close it? People who don't want to talk about it don't have to read it.

I have no reason to believe anyone here would intentionally mislead us. I'm just shaking my head at the stubbornness of the GVPD for their claim that they would arrest someone for violating a law that is clear in it's wording about a sign that does not meet the requirement of that law. I wonder if they would arrest a CHL holder under the same premise if the sign were only a typical gun-buster sign.

PUCKER,

Keith B is a Moderator on this Forum. He didn't get asked to be one by being uninformed or posting bad information. I would suggest that you can count on what he says!
