Shooter's Station in Conroe Burglarized

Montgomery County sheriff's deputies said they received a burglary alarm from the Shooters Station state Highway 105 west of Conroe at about 4:40 a.m. [December 14]

When deputies arrived, they found signs of forced entry, but no one was around.

"The building itself is pretty secure," store owner Danny Benois said. "There's no windows. There's only a front door and a back door. What they'd done was they cut the front door, the metal, and broke the glass and came inside the store."

The store has been compiling a complete inventory of the guns that were stolen. At least 50 assorted guns were taken, officials said.

"Ten or 12 probably shotguns and the rest are handguns," Benois said. "Upper-end quality guns. They went for the more popular guns because I'm thinking they're probably going to try to resell them."
I wish Danny well in all the insurance rigamarole, and in getting back to business as usual. And I hope the perps get caught before the guns can circulate to places they don't belong.

As mentioned in the comments of this article, if the alarm was triggered at 0440, and the guys were still wandering around in the building at 0533 according to the video captures, what exactly was the sheriff's department doing for 53 minutes? Montgomery County isn't that big, and I can't imagine they were swamped at 5AM.

When seconds count, the police are only 53 minutes away

I took my CHL class there.

You would think alarms at a gun store would have some kind of priority...
It can happen here.

:iagree: You would think so - could be a problem with the alarm company reporting in a timely manner.

53 minute delay? On 105 at those wee hours there is NO traffic...that's inexcusable.

The police responded in 8 minutes. The time date on the pictures is wrong due to time change.

I bought my first pistol at Shooters years ago. Danny was the guy that sold it to me. I hope they recover quickly. Obviously the guys had been in the store before and new guns enough to take the good ones. I'm amazed they were able to take that many and flee in 8 minutes flat.

Me two/too. LOL.

It is sad to see this happen they are all good people there. I have purchased three of my pistols there, used and new. I shoot there pretty regularly and am always greeted if not by name, at least recognized. I hope they are caught and punished to the full extent, not just a slap on the wrist.
